La Taverna Di Cecco In Ascoli piceno

3/25 based on my experience eating here, unfortunately I can't go beyond three stars. The place was full of people all busy eating and chatting. I went in to ask if they had room for two but, before I was considered by a waiter who also walked past me as if I were transparent, at least 8 minutes passed. Then a guy with a cell phone showed up and in 30 seconds had us seated. Without even ordering, 2 plates of house appetizer that I think they had brought for another table, they put them on ours. We accepted one, while we replaced the other with some Ascoli olives. I liked everything while my partner only liked the olives. Oh well. For the first course I had a carbonara and my partner had more Ascoli olives. The place was full and after us other people arrived who also sat near our table. You won't believe it (and I didn't believe it either) they were served first. To put it briefly, they told me that they had confused our table 1bis with 11bis so I had to wait a long time. The carbonara pasta was very good but I didn't like the sauce. The guanciale was too browned, almost burnt, while the egg didn't have a great flavor. The Ascoli olives, on the other hand, were exceptional. Then I paid at the cashier and left. Outside the restaurant, looking at the receipt, I realized that the appetizers were not offered but had been charged €12 each. At that point I went back in and at least I managed to get a refund for what we didn't eat. I'm sorry because most of the reviews are positive. Unfortunately, maybe it wasn't my day, I'll just tell you how it went.

Beautiful characteristic medieval place, good food but long wait and to get served we had to call the waiter as if he would forget us

The first one arrived in 2 minutes, the second one after 1 hour of waiting... Let's wait, it will certainly be delicious, in the meantime the vegetables which arrived very hot have cooled down shortly after we ordered

I've been going to the Tavern for years and I always have a great time. The dishes are unique, starting from the appetizers which in my opinion are their strong point. The flavors of each dish blend together very well. The service is very fast, friendly and helpful staff. Prices are average. Advise!

Super warm, cozy atmosphere, friendly, inexpensive place, typical and regional products, dish off the seasonal menu, delicious cuisine from other times

Guys, for the first time I ate the white pizza with crispy bacon, sausage and raw ham... Excellent

Pur essendo molto affollato il servizio è stato veloce e accurato e ben organizzato. Cibo buono e abbondante. Particolarmente interessante l'uovo cotto a bassa temperatura e poi fritto, i ravioli ripieni di burrata, le lenticchie e la carne. Prezzo adeguato all'evento

Come sempre serata all'insegna dell'ottimo cibo, prezzo onesto, accoglienza al top, antipasto piatto taverna sempre una sorpresa , Gricia come se non ci fosse un domani , fa nta sti Ca , agnello scottadito di qualità. Tutti i commensali felici, cosa chiedere di più ? Nulla
