La Taverna del Metallo In La spezia

We arrived late in the evening and were greeted very warmly. The waiters were very friendly and made us feel right at home. The food was excellent, and the sgabei were truly top-notch! Fantastic evening.

The restaurant is quite quirky, a kind of tavern, with a decor that's a mix of medieval and rock 'n' roll. The food is good and served quickly. They have several beer taps. They only play heavy metal music, but at a reasonable volume. They're open and serve food until midnight.

Small but very welcoming place, excellent beer and delicious dishes, with metal music playing in the background 💪🔝 Reservations are recommended.

I was there last night. Cool and kickass place, not to mention the metal music in the background that made me feel very comfortable. You don't always find places like this. More badass places like yours. Not to mention the "Black Heart" beer, I've never had a beer as good as this. Kudos to all the staff, I'll definitely be back. Stay metal🤘🏻

Of all the places to eat in downtown La Spezia, this is my absolute favorite. The food and drink are exceptional. The meat and beer are superb. For rock and metal lovers, this is the place to be!

Very good tripe soup and pesto pasta and fried bread stuffed with mushrooms. Highly recommend!

I've been there several times, a good 15 years ago, when I was in La Spezia for work. I still have the shirt and fond memories of this place. Great beers, food, and music. I hope to return someday!

Went to the Tavern for dinner, and it was AMAZING! Ambiance, service, music, food, tens across the board! Not gimmicky, just a well designed and completely genuine atmosphere. The food was authentic and hearty and the beer selection was amazing. The music set the tone perfectly and was not overwhelming or off-putting to the wide variety of people that were there. Will absolutely come here again!

It's actually a restaurant/pub, with limited seating, so if you're going on the weekend, book in advance. It's located on the main avenue called Via del Prione, in a small alley. If you arrive by car, you can't enter because it's a pedestrian area, so park elsewhere. The place is small, with a slightly Viking atmosphere. The menu is also in style, with hearty dishes like cheese and cured meat platters made with local products, pork shank (you'll occasionally find goulash), flavorful first courses, including wild boar meat, dressed potatoes stuffed in various ways, and also some good desserts. Let's just say this is a place for carnivores. If you like fish, go elsewhere. They obviously have good craft beers for all tastes, as well as an interesting local wine cellar. If you're traveling with children, the noisy customers and small space make it a bit cramped, and they don't have a children's menu. The food is quite good, and the owners are friendly. The prices aren't low, but La Spezia is now a tourist destination, so it's like that everywhere. Give it a try!

As for the pub, nothing to complain about, everything was excellent. What you might not expect, besides the welcoming atmosphere and the friendly staff, was the food (complimentary chef) and the excellent beer. Top, top, thanks for the evening, a big hello from Milan! I hope to return if possible!
