La Taverna del Barbarossa In San quirico d'orcia

Passing through the Val d'Orcia, we stopped for a quick lunch. It feels like a tourist-oriented restaurant, and the welcome is warm and friendly. The terrace overlooking the hills is stunning. The homemade pasta is excellent, with a variety of different types, all paired with a choice of sauces. I personally tried "la bava," a cacio e pepe (a kind of cacio e pepe) that I found truly delicious. A nasty surprise at the end: outdoor seating costs €4 (!!!) per person, and only at checkout did I notice a couple of signs hanging in the main dining room advising of the need to pay extra for outdoor seating. Not a smart choice, and you feel like you've been ripped off: wouldn't it be better to charge €3 for both inside and outside? In the end, for two first courses, a side dish, and water (no wine, dessert, or coffee), we spent €45.

A very nice restaurant for dining with a fantastic view! In pouring rain, be prepared for the rain to pour in from the sides. A tip: If you want to enjoy your meal in a more peaceful atmosphere, you might want to check beforehand whether a wedding is taking place there, as it can get quite loud.

Very delicious food and a fantastic restaurant location. I couldn't see any tourist traps. Unfortunately, we had bad weather and only saw very little of the fantastic view. On top of that, water entered the dining room and flooded half the floor. The staff were very helpful and we were seated elsewhere, albeit with slightly wet feet. The starters and main courses were very good; my taliata was excellent and tasted as good as it looked in the pictures. We'll try to come back again when the weather is better. There's plenty of parking.

10/10 for food, service atmosphere and view ! Cannot recommend highly enough !!

The restaurant overlooks a breathtaking panoramic view. The food is truly excellent, the service is impeccable, and the wine selection is excellent. I highly recommend it, and I'll definitely return if I'm in the area.

Beautiful location Superlative food

We stumbled upon this restaurant by chance, and it must be said that the rooms are very spacious and well-appointed. You can eat inside or outside. The view of the surrounding hills is beautiful. The service was fast and perfect. The food was very good and perfectly prepared.

With a stunning panoramic view, this restaurant specializes in gluten-free dishes. It offers an extensive menu featuring fresh pasta, pinsa, crostoni, and desserts, all strictly homemade. The wines are excellent.

We ate spectacularly well, some spectacular ricotta ravioli, the food was very good, the service was very professional and the location was idyllic, overlooking the Val d'Orcia.

Ein Lächeln wäre wünschenswert. Freundlichkeit ist eine verlorene Geste. Man fühlt sich nicht willkommen, sondern als Feriengast zum Ausnehmen
