Updated...(I still think she has the best bruschetta ever!) Hi all - I want to share some pictures of the wonderful meal and wine tasting we joyed last night at Mariella Fratellini’s restaurant in Monte di Procida, La Taverna dei Sapori. I lost track, but I think a six course meal, all Neapolitan themed Christmas dishes and one more tasty than the next, especially with the expertly paired wines! If you like REALLY good food, prepared especially for you, connect with her on FB and go enjoy her kitchen and the love that comes out of it! ===== original post ===== We visited here this evening because we have been following her wonderful posts on FB for years and now that we have returned to Napoli we had the chance to check it out in person! We shared the restaurant with only one other family tonight. The food was VERY good. The bruschetta may have been the best ever! Fresh, garlicky and just a touch salty - overall perfect! The wine pairing that she recommended was excellent! I had the orchiaetta pasta and my wife had zuppe di cozze and my son has seafood pasta. All three dishes were a hit! (My other son had risotto and it was not great - but in true fashion she didn’t charge us for it, since he didn’t eat it.) A wonderful meal and I look forward to returning soon, especially after so many years away!

My & my wife have had an amazing spaghetti and great service. Recommend!

Mariella ha estado sirviendo amor directamente desde su cocina durante veinte años o más. Ella le da la bienvenida como la familia y prepara cada plato de acuerdo con la tradición y sus deseos. Cenamos aquí anoche para un menú temático pre-navideño napolitano y fue un plato delicioso o amor servido después de otro con maridajes de vinos acompañados que realmente hicieron 2 + 2 = 5 (como un buen maridaje debe! ) Si estás en Nápoles y quieres una comida fantástica a precios razonables, Mariella hará realidad tus sueños gourmet!

A truly wonderful dining experience. Mariella and Pepe are the best. The food is absolutely fantastic and the atmosphere is wonderful. There is not a set menu as Mariella sources all of her food locally and seasonally. We had the ragu with orrichetto pasta and the Genovese pasta. They were both delightful. The wine pairing was a local Campania region Taurasi that was perfect. However the desserts were the piece de resistance. The tiramisu and the chocolate tort were the best desserts I have had in Italy over the past 2 years. Do yourself a favor and come dine at this authentic Italian Taverna.

Posto carino intimo. Proprietari gentilissimi e ben preparati! Cibo spaziale! Tutto fresco! Nessun menu scritto! Grande passione per le materie prime e per i vini! Nonostante avessimo necessità vegetariane siamo state accontentate abbondantemente!! Consigliatissimo! Speriamo di ritornarci presto! Ottimi anche i prezzi

A truly authentic Italian experience. Mariella is an expert chef and sommelier and always has something delicious cooking! Go in with an open mind and eat whatever she suggests and trust her wine pairing. It’s sure to be the freshest, most inventive, and most delicious meal you eat in Naples. Absolutely worth the trip.

For this Sunday lunch we were welcomed and served by the very kind lady Mariella, who let us taste some delicious dishes that mix tradition and innovation. We were delighted with the location and the food.

The right place at the right time,... motorbike ride with wife, lunch time we happen upon the tavern by chance, the map times showed the restaurant closed but fortunately the open sign didn't stop us, we were welcomed as if we were from home, Mariella transmits that passion for cooking that makes lunch special, we opted for a series of appetizers and an abundant scilatiello to share, the photos would not have done justice to the flavor so trust me and go and try it, let yourself be guided by her experience in cooking choice of wines to pair with cuisine with genuine flavours, quality clearly above average. We will definitely be back to try more!
