A restaurant hidden in the narrow streets of Perugia, characteristic and charming. I was craving rice and tried their chicken curry with basmati rice and almonds, incredibly exceptional, worth visiting and eating in peace in an almost magical place.

We have been taking groups of American tourists to La Taverna since 2008. The experience has always been excellent and very memorable. Claudio is a tour-de-force as both chef-supreme and jovial host.

Bellissimo passeggiata per Perugia, conclusa con un pranzo degno di tale nome:: un prosciutto stagionato di antipasto ed un ottima trippa di vitello al limone, innaffiata con un indimenticabile Sagrantino. Luogo accogliente e raffinato, ottimo servizio e prezzo onesto: che dire di più! Complimenti. Roberto55

09/10/2025: We came back for a special birthday, always a great, intimate and welcoming atmosphere! The menu is impeccable, not too many courses but an excellent selection, with truly high-quality first and second courses! As always, a confirmation.
09/07/2025: The review refers to the restaurant. The location is beautiful, but the quality/price ratio isn't adequate. An appetizer of three bruschettas costs €10, and three grilled lamb chops cost €20, too. The service is like a farmhouse, but the prices aren't. Overall, I can give it a passing grade, no more.

07/10/2025: A restaurant serving traditional cuisine with period decor. Delicious food and huge portions. Superb value for money. We'll definitely return. Wait times are a bit long on weekends as the restaurant is always crowded.
29/09/2025: There's a genuine atmosphere, which sadly no longer exists, and the food is excellent and plentiful. The staff is friendly.
