La Taverna In Perugia

A hidden jewel in the heart of Perugia, with a scorching sun to avoid at midday! Wandering through the fascinating streets of Perugia, I came across the mysterious "Vicolo delle Streghe". Intrigued by the evocative name, I decided to explore it and was rewarded with a surprising discovery: a unique restaurant, nestled in the medieval heart of the city. The atmosphere is magical, almost out of time, even if the electric cables dangling here and there clash a bit with the environment. After descending a staircase, I found myself in this intimate and evocative place. The service started off flawlessly, perhaps a little too formally, but the staff soon relaxed, creating a welcoming and friendly atmosphere. The real protagonist was the cuisine: an explosion of authentic flavours, with extremely high quality products. Each dish was a delight for the palate, a true celebration of the Umbrian culinary tradition. Unfortunately, lunch was partially ruined by the scorching June sun. After the appetizer, the sun began to beat down hard, forcing a family with small children to leave. We too suffered from the heat, despite wearing sunglasses, and were unable to fully enjoy the delicacies that were served to us. Useful tips: Time: If you want to have lunch outdoors, avoid the central hours of the day, especially in summer. The sun can be truly unbearable. In the evening, however, the atmosphere becomes even more magical and romantic. Seating: If you prefer to stay cool, ask for a table inside. The environment is equally evocative and you can enjoy lunch in complete tranquility. Vicolo delle Streghe: In addition to the restaurant, the alley is worth a visit for its unique atmosphere. Don't forget your camera! Electrical Cables: As already noted, the presence of electrical cables could be a bit annoying for photos. In summary, this restaurant is a real hidden gem, with excellent cuisine and a unique atmosphere. The only drawback is the scorching sun at midday, but with the right precautions you can have an unforgettable experience.

Spectacular meal- brilliant service, amazing food and atmosphere. A must-visit!

Very nice environment in the historic center of Perugia. I had an appetizer (excellent) and a second course (roncignoni). From the starter I liked the cured meats, in particular the raw ham and the crostoni with livers. The second one however completely disappointed me. Completely immersed in a sauce with an indefinable taste that covered the flavors of the main dish. Salted potatoes. Lemon cheesecake but the predominant flavor was milk. Montefalco wine with good flavor. The service from the guys at the tables was excellent.

Restaurant in the historic center of Perugia, nice location especially the cellar. The first courses were good, but the starters didn't convince me 🙂

Sono tornato dopo anni in questo ristorante di Perugia e devo dire che le cose non sono cambiate, ottimo ristorante era ed ottimo ristorante è rimasto. I piatti della tradizione fatti con cura e con materie prime di gran livello, ottima carta dei vini, locLe accogliente ed elegante e grande cura da parte del personale, ottimo rapporto qualità/prezzo, bravi.

Locale accogliente situato lungo una stradina laterale rispetto ad una delle vie centrali della città. Ci siamo fermati per pranzo di passaggio a Perugia: abbiamo mangiato uno stinco di maiale con patate al forno buonissimo e una tagliata di manzo altrettanto buona. Servizio veloce e attento.
