La Taverna In Perugia

The main courses, dessert and service were excellent, but the appetizers were rather disappointing. The restaurant is located in a pastoral and beautiful setting, with very elegant décor. The service was wonderful, and as soon as we sat down we were served a small plate of thick and very tasty soup to warm us from the cold outside, a glass of prosecco, and slices of garlic-seasoned bread. For starters, we ordered a terrine with pistachios and black truffles, and a sort of salad with melted burrata cheese. Unfortunately, both were quite disappointing— the terrine was very bland in flavor, and the salad dish was cold, as if it had just been taken out of the fridge. For the main courses, we ordered black truffle ravioli and tortellini stuffed with mozzarella and tomatoes with spinach pesto. Both were excellent; the pasta was perfectly cooked, and the ravioli came with an impressive amount of truffle shaved directly over the dish. For dessert, we had tiramisu, which was classic, simple, and good. To finish the meal, we were served a local chocolate liqueur that left a wonderful aftertaste. The prices are also quite reasonable — we paid a total of €100 for two people, including two glasses of wine and a tip. In summary, if not for the big gap between the appetizers and the rest of the meal, I would have gladly added another star.

A warm, traditional Umbrian restaurant, welcoming and elegant. The staff is very courteous and knowledgeable, the service is quick and accurate, and the food is delicious, prepared with quality ingredients. Don't miss the truffle ravioli, the cubes with gorgonzola fondue, and the sliced beef with lard, served with delicious potatoes. Fairly priced. Highly recommended.

Panzanella with burrata, tagliatelle with Umbrian ragù, and lentil soup—all delicious. Truly high quality and fair prices. The place is very quaint and the staff are friendly.

Wonderfully quaint and authentic Italian restaurant. We were lucky enough to have a personal interaction with the owner and head chef who spent many years cooking at high end restaurants in the United States. The food here, restored our faith in Italian food after having “meh” experiences in Positano and Rome. Best ravioli pasta we’ve ever had!

The place is beautiful, the staff is friendly, and the price is fair—you're even in the center of Perugia. What more could you want?

After having already been during the Easter holidays, the restaurant again met the highest standards: service, quality, and price. The restaurant always welcomes guests with a small entrée and a glass of white wine. Chef Claudio's dishes are excellent, and he's always very kind, coming to greet customers after they've eaten. It's definitely a must-visit when we visit this area.

Like all restaurants in the upper town, it's primarily geared toward tourists, but it's a positive exception. Professional and attentive service, excellent food quality, and acceptable value for money.

One of the best restaurants in Italy. Period. Don‘t miss it! It‘s worth the experience! Highly recommended!

Bellissimo passeggiata per Perugia, conclusa con un pranzo degno di tale nome:: un prosciutto stagionato di antipasto ed un ottima trippa di vitello al limone, innaffiata con un indimenticabile Sagrantino.
