La Stalla In Assisi

I've known him since the 70s and everything is always excellent.

Stopped in for lunch, intrigued by the reviews and photos. A unique and therefore interesting place. The dishes were very good (the lamb was 🔝, the best I've ever tasted) and the price was reasonable for the quality and quantity of the dishes. We confirm that they don't take reservations. I would gladly return. Recommended.

Located just after Assisi along the road leading to Mount Subasio, the restaurant is warm and welcoming. There's a large fireplace where the various types of meat on the menu are cooked in plain view. Naturally, there's the torta al testo, available both stuffed and plain (without filling). The menu also features cold cuts, cheeses, grilled potatoes, and more, in addition to desserts. The staff was particularly courteous and well-organized, despite the restaurant being full and there being a queue of other customers waiting for a table. Near the Hermitage of San Francesco, there's a very large agriturismo. The wait wasn't excessive, even though there were a lot of people waiting. Lunch was enjoyable; the onions and potatoes under ash were recommended. The price for lunch for four was affordable.

Very welcoming place, good food with a wide selection. A special thanks from the entire group to Martin, who provided us with excellent service.

Authentic and rustic... An experience to be enjoyed, where conviviality reigns supreme. Typical and delicious dishes.

The atmosphere is simple but the food is truly delicious... an experience I'd definitely repeat!

A friend recommended this restaurant to us... and I recommend it too. Just outside Assisi, it takes you back in time with the (enormous) grill in the center of the restaurant and the simple decor that harks back to the past. I'd definitely say it's very well-known; there's always a line for a table (and rightfully so), so much so that some tables are shared. Excellent food, with typical regional and grilled flavors (the parate al cartoccio is definitely worth a try and a must). Desserts, such as tocchetti (small pieces of meat) with vin santo, are a perfect end to the meal.

Restaurant at the entrance to the campsite, no reservations for 2 or 3 people, reservations required for more, very good varied dishes, lots of wood-fired grills, specify the order in which you would like your dishes served, excellent desserts, I highly recommend it.

⭐️⭐️⭐️ Good experience, but with some reservations La Stalla restaurant certainly has a very special atmosphere: rustic, quaint, and authentic, with a large fireplace where the meat is cooked in plain view—a true spectacle. The setting is charming, and the aroma of grilled meat greets you as soon as you enter. The quality of the food is good, especially the meat, which is tender and well-cooked. However, some dishes seemed a bit simple compared to expectations and the prices. The service, while courteous, also seemed a bit rushed, probably due to the large influx of customers. Kudos to waiter Martin (Peruvian), who alone does the job of four. Overall, a pleasant place, perfect for those seeking a rustic and authentic experience, but perhaps not ideal if you're looking for a quieter or more attentive dinner. Excellent value for money
