We visited almost two weeks ago on our first night in Italy. We have ate pizza and pasta dishes at so many places over Venice, Florence, Cinque Terre, and Sorrento and every time it’s “but that place in Milano was the best”. The food was amazing, the owners were awesome and joked about my husband being bald with a beard and we all had a great time. We didn’t leave a bite of food and were so full. If I ever get the chance I’ll be back.

A little restaurant northwest of the train station owned by locals featuring local foods and cuisine. So very fresh.
We watched them knead dough, cut from meat, open homemade pickled jars and prepare our meals. It was an absolute pleasure to get to experience this meal.
So much better than the tourist area places.
Reasonably priced and generous portions. Go there!

Sometimes the best food appears in the most unexpected places. Off the beaten track, authentic cuisine prepared by honest people who see their way of eating as part of their own family history, framed by a culture of identity. Exquisite antipasti, melanzane with wild oregano, a narrative from the south to the north of the peninsula, bringing with it ancestral recipes, a way of conceiving the "tabola posta," a one-on-one approach, and each dish that tells the story of the hand that conceived it.
Deco of potus and 70s furniture, many gastronomic journeys under my belt, accumulated wisdom wrapped in scents and textures. To go, eat, delight, and learn. Pascuale and family, nativity during the Easter season—it couldn't be any other way. La Spigola, a Milanese secret that I would love to keep to myself, but which I share because this endangered species deserves all the complements that exist in the world and beyond.
