La Siciliana In Milano

I ordered about ten Sicilian cannoli, a cassata cake, and a variety of pastries. I've never had such good cannoli, and the cake is the same. I'm giving it 5 stars simply because there's no way I could give it more.

Wide selection of croissants, all excellent. I had a very good Veneziana and an excellent coffee. Prices are a bit higher than average, but honestly, I can't complain about the quantity and quality. I was a bit perplexed that, even though I was alone at the counter, they made me pay before receiving the croissant, placing it behind the counter, and then handing it to me only after I had paid by debit card. Honestly, something like this has never happened to me before, and in my opinion, it creates a certain distance and lack of empathy between the manager and the customer.

Visit with friends at this bar, two mini Sicilian cassatelle and two coffees for 9.50. Thanks, but you will never see me at this bar again.

I used to go there about two or three times a week. It was excellent until before COVID, but then they got too big for their snobs: prices that weren't even comparable to those at Massari in the Duomo or Knam. While the quality remains excellent (both for breakfast and savory options), I think they're fine where they are. I left them a while ago to go to competitors with much more honest prices (like Eoliana on Via Ortica). Last year I even got the much-vaunted panettone with all the awards... well, mediocre and expensive. It's a real shame they've lost their way. It's also a shame because reading the arrogant responses shows their unwillingness to accept constructive criticism to improve.

I have no complaints about the quality: the hot chocolate was among the best I've tasted in Milan, the whipped cream (ordered separately in a glass) was spectacular, and the cassata was excellent. It's only right to give them this recognition. Unfortunately, I have to say, reluctantly and without being argumentative, that the price was truly excessive. I understand the table service, but on this occasion it was completely out of place. Not even Cova or Marchesi (to name the more well-known pastry shops) offer such a high quality/service ratio, and in the case of La Siciliana, we're on Via Teodosio, not in the historic center. I won't be returning. I obviously don't think they care whether I return or not, and I don't even think losing a customer is a big deal. It's a shame, really: it could have become my go-to pastry shop, and I'm honestly sorry I can't go there again. But at these prices, it doesn't exist.

I went for breakfast and tried the baked ravioli with ricotta that was recommended to me, and I have to say it was truly exceptional! The staff was very kind, unlike what I read. I will definitely be back.

From granitas to cannoli, it's a moment to feel like you're in Sicily. Everything is really delicious with excellent quality products, all surrounded by an efficient staff. And then, as the icing on the cake, there's Paolo, who with his kindness and irony manages to pamper you, making you feel at ease while spending a wonderful afternoon in good company...
