La Rosa dei Venti In Minucciano

18/08/2025: La Corte dei Limoni is located by entering a long atrium overlooking a courtyard where the space-time curvature of Lucca's walls transports you to another dimension. Here we sample a bruschetta with crispy speck and a competition-quality caramelized onion. Then we sample two dishes: cod with chickpeas and rabbit in Vermentino. Both were beautifully cooked, especially the rabbit, which leaves only the shiny bones on the plate. The house wine (good), lemon cheesecake (worth a second look), and a round grappa. All in all, €80. The price may be a bit steep, as is generally the case in Lucca, but the medieval location, the quality cuisine, and the owner's friendliness left a sweet aftertaste in our memory (perhaps also thanks to the complimentary limoncello at the end).
