Sitting on the edge of the cliff with panoramic views of the valley, La Rocca combines location and cuisine beautifully. We had lunch on the terrace overlooking the tufa stone cliffs – unbeatable setting. The food was excellent: bruschetta with lardo and honey to start, then pici pasta with duck sauce for me and a wild mushroom risotto for my partner. Everything was flavorful, seasonal, and well-executed. Staff were relaxed but attentive, and the local white wine (Bianco di Pitigliano) was crisp and refreshing. Mid-range prices (€35–€45), but totally worth it for the views and experience.

Anyone who eats a lot and often in Tuscany knows that Tuscan food is not always the same as Tuscan food. But here at La Rocca (Pitigliano) everything is genuine, everything is local and everything is top notch. The velouté (La Zuppa) has a pure, fresh vegetable taste, the pasta is homemade and extremely tasty and the tagliati is made from top-quality beef - cooked so tenderly that the bite and crumbliness are balanced. There is someone cooking who can really do it. And the “large living room” in the dining room rounds everything off very nicely. 100 points.

There he is!!! A restaurant that surprised me from every point of view. Compared to the images I saw on the internet, the place has been completely redone, giving it a refined taste but without the garb of formality. Ordered a carbonara with truffle on Easter evening, which in my opinion is one of the best I've ever eaten. A perfect balance between the saltiness of the pasta, the super crunchy bacon and the truffle. For the second course, a tartare which was actually an appetizer, also with its complexity of flavours. No dish was obvious or banal but rather it seems like an experimentation that already finds its balance in the dishes offered. At the suggestion we had a good Orange Wine to try a non-obvious combination. An equally good dessert and a bitter one. At the end of the dinner the bill was a surprise. I will hardly find the best quality/price and experience. I must say that everything was accompanied by the friendliness and kindness of the owner. My family and I will definitely be back.
