La Rivista Wine & Cheese Bar In Venezia

First restaurant we went to during our stay in Venice. Very good discovery! Pleasant atmosphere, very friendly waiter, and very good food. We had a blast! In photo we took a margherita pizza and a caramel panna cota

Lovely dinner with friendly waiter Nic who went out of his way to take care of us and made recommendations. Three of us enjoyed sea bass (branzino) nicely prepared flavorful and moist, soft polenta side was good. Cute interior looks like inside of a ship.

So, Venice isn't known for amazing food. It's a tourist trap nightmare for most people who don't venture away from the grand canal and piazza San Marco. However, if you're willing to seek it out, there are some really good spots to be surprised by. La Rivista isn't exactly off the beaten path, but it was phenomenal. I lived in Italy for four years and have been deeply jaded by the tourist hell that churns out mediocre food daily. But, we had a wonderful lunch al fresco here that featured the best risotto I've had. It was a pumpkin risotto so full of flavor, creamy, perfectly made with love and just a beacon of happiness I was looking for but never thought I'd find. The service was excellent as well. It has a lovely outdoor area that makes one really happy to be in Venezia. I highly recommend La Rivista.

We had the best lasagna I've ever had. We went back a second time and the other dishes were also amazing. The staff is friendly. The wine is good.

Very good but service a little long

The food was very good. We tried the crispy octopus (perfect), the cheese gnocchi, the squid ink pasta and the tuna penne. Everything was very good. Excellent homemade tiramisu for dessert. Pleasant and friendly service. Air-conditioned restaurant, “liner” atmosphere inside. To recommend.

We had a great time in this restaurant, far from the world. Super good food! Special mention for the homemade gnocchi, Incredibly good Caesar salad. And the cocktails are super good! I highly recommend it 😍
