Trattoria La Quercia is one of those places that makes you rediscover the true meaning of a Ligurian trattoria. As soon as you arrive, you're immediately immersed in a genuine atmosphere: a rustic, welcoming atmosphere, meticulously maintained without being overbearing, where you feel more like a guest than a customer. The cuisine is the restaurant's true strength. Traditional dishes are prepared as they once were, with quality ingredients and generous portions. The first courses are excellent: fresh pasta, rich, flavorful sauces, truly home-made. The second courses are equally impressive, with perfectly cooked meats and recipes that respect local traditions. The side dishes also deserve special mention: simple yet carefully prepared. The service is friendly and familiar, never intrusive, always available to recommend dishes and wines. You can sense the passion of those who work here, which makes the experience even more enjoyable. The wine list is also excellent, well-selected and in keeping with the cuisine. I had lunch with an excellent first course with fish sauce and a delicious green stockfish, all at a great price. I'd already dined there before and had eaten very well at a fair price.

I used to come here with my parents way back in the old days. 😁 We returned with our son and our two dogs today. Very efficient service, welcoming place, good-quality products, creative and traditional dishes. The fried octopus was a bit too tasty, but it was crispy, soft, and very well served. All the dishes were generous. A special mention goes to the Russian salad, which was truly balanced and melting on the palate. The wine list is adequate. Dishes can be chosen from the general menu or the daily menu. Dessert is served in decidedly oversized quantities; I'm writing this to save room for it. 😀

Trattoria Du Ruscin

18/04/2026: If you're looking for the true soul of Liguria, this trattoria in San Desiderio is a must-see. As soon as you step inside, you're enveloped in a magical, bygone atmosphere: the place is beautiful and meticulously crafted. It's a small museum of memories: the beautiful tube radios that decorate the rooms, the old birdcages, and the many antiques that tell the story of our region are all beautiful. It's more than just a restaurant; it's a place that warms the heart. The food is a triumph of traditional Genoese cuisine: authentic dishes, expertly prepared with the finest ingredients. The service was impeccable: the staff were kind, attentive, and highly knowledgeable. A gem on the hills above Genoa that I highly recommend to anyone who loves quality and tradition. I'll definitely be back!
03/04/2026: We had lunch at this typical Genoese restaurant to celebrate my dad's birthday. We ate well, I can't say otherwise, but there were some areas where it could be improved. For appetizers, we chose panissette and cuculli, a dry and crispy fried dish, but a bit bland. The best choice was the minced raw meat, served with several side dishes. The first courses were excellent; we tried pansoti with walnut sauce, pesto lasagna (not the smoothest, but a bit grainy, just the way I like it), and tagliolini with mushrooms and tuna, a truly beautiful dish. For the second course, we sampled a generous and delicious fried calamari and artichokes, while the Italian-style fritto misto, which we had high hopes for, was a disappointment: for €22, it consisted almost entirely of vegetables; the only piece of meat was a 4x4 cm steak, along with a small piece of ham and cheese. Dessert was brought to us at the end of the meal, after the birthday cake: not exactly a good choice, given that one of the dish's strengths is the combination of flavors. Overall, it was a good lunch, although quite pricey: €50 per person, but not everyone chose three courses, and we brought our own dessert. The fried appetizer, in particular, at €8, is excessive; after all, we're talking about flour and water. The atmosphere is welcoming and familiar, and the staff was very courteous; perhaps the younger waiters need a little more experience. There's a small parking lot at the entrance, so I suggest grouping diners in as few cars as possible.
