We ordered caccio e pepe pasta - a small portion, nothing special in taste. Polpette in tomato sauce with mashed potatoes - tasty and a decent portion. Deer tartar with truffle - bland, without sorbet it would have been boring. Plus, we were told twice that there were no juices or tea, only Fanta/Cola and coffee, because "we are a restaurant, not a bar" 🙄

It's a temple of meat; every time I go, there's something new to try, and it's always a perfect experience. Federico, the owner, is a true enthusiast, and when he describes a dish on the menu or the various selections of aged meats, he has that smile and a twinkle in his eye that shows someone who truly loves what he does. The location is well-kept and intimate, both in winter (inside) and summer (outside), and the service is always excellent. For me, it's the number one restaurant.

We dined outdoors. Unfortunately, we ate practically in the dark because the light under the umbrella was off/broken. I had the picii al Morellino cacio e pepe for my first course. Very good, but for the price, the portion was small. For my second course, I had the suckling pig. The flavor was good, but the meat was dry. The other diners had Chianina meatballs with tomato sauce and cod on chickpea cream.... Everything was good. Very good service.

This restaurant is located in the center of Magliano, along the main street, near the church. It features two small indoor dining rooms and an outdoor garden. The indoor dining rooms are charming and well-decorated, in keeping with what you might expect. The food is good, with dishes carefully crafted both in presentation and pairing. The menu and wine list are good, and the staff are friendly and attentive. Prices are moderately high. After your meal, a stroll through the town center is recommended. The historic walls overlooking the valley that extends to the sea are worth a visit.

Il cibo è di qualità, il personale è stato gentile e non invadente, il proprietario un po' troppo serioso e sbrigativo, prezzi un po' altini...infatti i piatti più "economici" non erano più disponibili.

Un viaggio nei sapori autentici della Maremma Dopo una passeggiata sulle mura di Magliano in Toscana, ci siamo fermati all’Osteria La Poventa con il desiderio di gustare una buona carne alla griglia, un vino del territorio e la semplicità raffinata della cucina toscana. Federico, l’oste, ci ha guidati con competenza e passione nella scelta: un taglio di vitellone podolico tenero e saporito, cotto alla perfezione e accompagnato da verdure dell’orto. Un piatto che da solo vale il viaggio. Il tutto abbinato al rosso “Le Sughere di Frassinello” della cantina Rocca di Frassinello: intenso, elegante, perfetto. Il giorno dopo siamo tornati per scoprire il resto del menù, e anche questa volta ne siamo usciti entusiasti. Antipasti di prosciutto di cinta senese locale e paté con le pere, accompagnato da vinsanto eccellente, seguiti da pici al capriolo e maltagliati al cinghiale: piatti autentici, equilibrati e pieni di carattere. Ottima anche la scelta dell’Ansonica della Fattoria di Magliano, proposta da Federico. Alla Poventa si trovano le eccellenze del territorio maremmano, cucinate con maestria e rispetto per la tradizione. I dolci, infine, sono una piacevole sorpresa: reinterpretazioni originali della cucina contadina che chiudono il pasto con eleganza. In sintesi, La Poventa non è solo un’osteria: è un viaggio nei sapori veri della Maremma, guidato dalla mano attenta di chi ama profondamente il proprio territorio.
