I ate very well, of course meat both as an appetizer and as a second course. The Florentine steak of Maremma meat was very good and cooked as requested. The owner and the waiter were very friendly and professional. I highly recommend

I give 3 stars because in the end we ate, but I'm honest in a Tuscan village I expected much more quality. The first courses had more or less all the same flavors, the name of the ragù changed but for me it was the same, we took 3 different ones. The most painful note for me, the cutting board, I swear present it like this and make me pay €20 for it, there were 4 of us, well I was a little disappointed. Another super painful note, we had 2 children and we wanted pasta for them, we were told that there was neither short pasta nor tomato, well gentlemen... it doesn't take much to make customers happy. Get organized!!!

Il cibo è di qualità, il personale è stato gentile e non invadente, il proprietario un po' troppo serioso e sbrigativo, prezzi un po' altini...infatti i piatti più "economici" non erano più disponibili.

Un viaggio nei sapori autentici della Maremma Dopo una passeggiata sulle mura di Magliano in Toscana, ci siamo fermati all’Osteria La Poventa con il desiderio di gustare una buona carne alla griglia, un vino del territorio e la semplicità raffinata della cucina toscana. Federico, l’oste, ci ha guidati con competenza e passione nella scelta: un taglio di vitellone podolico tenero e saporito, cotto alla perfezione e accompagnato da verdure dell’orto. Un piatto che da solo vale il viaggio. Il tutto abbinato al rosso “Le Sughere di Frassinello” della cantina Rocca di Frassinello: intenso, elegante, perfetto. Il giorno dopo siamo tornati per scoprire il resto del menù, e anche questa volta ne siamo usciti entusiasti. Antipasti di prosciutto di cinta senese locale e paté con le pere, accompagnato da vinsanto eccellente, seguiti da pici al capriolo e maltagliati al cinghiale: piatti autentici, equilibrati e pieni di carattere. Ottima anche la scelta dell’Ansonica della Fattoria di Magliano, proposta da Federico. Alla Poventa si trovano le eccellenze del territorio maremmano, cucinate con maestria e rispetto per la tradizione. I dolci, infine, sono una piacevole sorpresa: reinterpretazioni originali della cucina contadina che chiudono il pasto con eleganza. In sintesi, La Poventa non è solo un’osteria: è un viaggio nei sapori veri della Maremma, guidato dalla mano attenta di chi ama profondamente il proprio territorio. A journey into the authentic flavors of the Maremma After a walk on the walls of Magliano in Toscana, we stopped at Osteria La Poventa with the desire to taste good grilled meat, a local wine and the refined simplicity of Tuscan cuisine. Federico, the innkeeper, guided us with competence and passion in the choice: a tender and tasty cut of Podolian veal, cooked to perfection and accompanied by vegetables from the garden. A dish that alone is worth the trip. All combined with the red “Le Sughere di Frassinello” from the Rocca di Frassinello winery: intense, elegant, perfect. The next day we returned to discover the rest of the menu, and this time too we were enthusiastic. Starters of local Cinta Senese ham and pâté with pears, accompanied by excellent vinsanto, followed by pici with roe deer and maltagliati with wild boar: authentic, balanced and full of character dishes. The choice of Ansonica from Fattoria di Magliano, proposed by Federico, was also excellent. At Poventa you can find the excellence of the Maremma area, cooked with skill and respect for tradition. Finally, the desserts are a pleasant surprise: original reinterpretations of peasant cuisine that end the meal with elegance. In summary, La Poventa is not just a tavern: it is a journey into the true flavors of the Maremma, guided by the careful hand of those who deeply love their territory. Cozy place, friendly staff. It's a shame about the grilled fillets which at the other tables were served in the classic tall and whole version, while our two thin ones were served in the cut steak version.
