We stumbled upon this restaurant by pure chance. We arrived late, almost at closing time, and they were very kind to serve us anyway. The portions are generous and definitely delicious. Tartar and pici with white Chianina ragù were our choice. Everything was excellent, the quality and the price were excellent! Highly recommended if you're passing through this beautiful Tuscan village.

A small but well-maintained tavern. First of all, it's located in a characteristic spot in Buonconvento's historic center. At the entrance, there's a bar and a register. We were immediately greeted warmly by a very courteous waiter who led us into the dining room on the left. It's not a particularly large room, but it's a quaint, homey atmosphere. The exposed beams and brick vaulted ceilings, though repainted, give the place a rustic, old-world feel. The service was impeccable, polite, and courteous. The first course, pici with goose sauce, was delicious; I wasn't so keen on the appetizer: the menu said "fegatelli," but in reality it was two pieces of pâté spread on bread. The slightly toasted bread was good, but the pâté was cold and I didn't particularly enjoy it. Plus, they'd added a sweet sauce that affected the flavor. Overall, it was a positive experience. Definitely recommended for a lunch featuring local dishes.

I took a group of 12 there, and we had a great time. The staff was patient and helpful, the food was delicious, and the portions were just right: some dined on just one dish, while others, feeling hungrier, ordered two or three. I had the Chianina beef tartare with quail eggs, which was very flavorful and tender; the mixed salad, rich and plentiful; and an excellent cantucci parfait with a Vin Santo reduction. Everything was delicious and served in more than reasonable time, considering the large group and the fact that the rest of the room was also full.
Lovely atmosphere, friendly and relaxed. Well done!

Went for dinner last night and it was truly amazing. As it was a Saturday we called in advance. Inside was already fully booked, but they had tables available outside, which was perfectly fine for us. Our English-speaking server Alessandro was very kind, hospitality-driven and sincere. He did an awesome job making our night lovely.
We had the Ravioli with ricotta and spinache in sage butter & Pici al ragû as starters; definitely recommend! The pasta was phenomenal. As main course we had the beef sirloin with oil of herbs and pork cheek (super tender and melted on your tongue!) Both served with mashed potatoes and ordered baked potatoes with rosemary as a side dish that were also sublime.
We wanted to go for a dessert, but we were so full already! So we will definitely need to come back to try out.
I had wine per glass and Alessandro served me a delicious Merlot (which they normally serve per bottle) as per his recommendation - fantastic!
Last but not least: the owner Stefano, he was so nice and had a lovely chat with us (as they were also closing within 15 minutes) and offered us to join a complimentary digestive, very typical and local, Amaro, which we drank together with Alessandro, another server and Stefano himself inside the restaurant as a thank you. It was so wonderful - it made me want to write this review with great memories and love.
