La Pigna In Roma

With hungry stomachs, we were looking for a cozy restaurant that wasn't overcrowded. We found the "Pigna" in a quiet, slightly secluded place (the tourist "beaten paths" are very close but lead around this oasis). This is how we imagined our restaurant! The service from the entire team is very courteous and warm, the dishes are typical and carefully and tastefully prepared. The atmosphere in the restaurant is pleasant, and you can eat comfortably outside even without traffic (in Rome!). It couldn't be better and after all we've been there three times! As written in other reviews, the thing about the bread and the price of bread could lead to misunderstandings: it is clearly stated on the menu that the bread costs something per person (fair price), but tourists who are in Italy for the first time are may be irritated by these costs. This is also known as the cover charge in Italy. - Maybe it would be good if the waitress didn't just put the bread out when handing out the menu, but only explicitly asked when taking the order whether bread was wanted and, if so, for how many people. Then it becomes clear that it costs something. - Since we know the situation, there are no star deductions for this, and we were even generously provided with bread - for free!

Ristorante in pieno centro in un’oasi di pace. Siamo stati ieri sera e abbiamo mangiato veramente bene. A sorpresa, una delle migliori amatriciane a Roma. Servizio ottimo. Location eccellente per una serata tra amici.

Friendly service, extensive menu, quiet location. We loved the food: artichokes, beef with pepper sauce, tiramisu. and wine: nebbiolo.
