La Pigna In Roma

Family lunch... outdoors even though it's November 1st... Luca, Nicola's partner, welcomed us, and we were so pampered... for starters, we delighted in cod croquettes with caramelized Tropea onions and fried anchovies with caper sauce... we suggest adding a twist of lemon zest. Then the magnificent roast beef accompanied by wonderful mashed potatoes... for Carlo, who is lactose intolerant, a fantastic ratatouille made with a knife... then zabaglione with chocolate chips and Mont Blanc espresso... to finish, Jefferson on ice, oshizaki... in short, we were so pampered from start to finish.

As always, a very pleasant evening, with very courteous and punctual service. Excellent food.

Amidst all the hustle and bustle of Rome, you can sit here in a tranquil and peaceful atmosphere, and the food isn't too expensive. We had the vitello tonnato: top quality, the burger: superb beef (a rather small portion), the entrecôte: perfectly grilled, and the fries impeccable. For starters: the tuna tartar was sensational, and the fried zucchini blossoms: very little but also superbly flavorful. The recommended wine (a bottle for €30) from Tuscany, aged in barriques, added to the appeal. The service was exceptionally friendly and helpful. A definite recommendation!

Located in a small but charming and relatively quiet square in the heart of Rome, the restaurant offers a modest but well-selected menu, especially for its first and second courses. The dishes are carefully prepared, tasty, and come in generous portions (not the tiny ones currently in fashion). The roast beef and veal with tuna sauce are truly delicious. Outdoor seating is available (highly recommended if the weather permits), and the interior is well-maintained and clean. Service is prompt and courteous. Prices aren't the lowest, but in my opinion, they're fair for the quality of the products (aside from the ever-unpleasant tax, unfortunately back in fashion in Rome, imposed on individual customers for bread and service). In short: I would recommend it.

Great place to try Roman specialties

Really nice and welcoming place. Service with a big heart and care for the customer. Really excellent food both in appearance and taste. I suggest their RoastBeef and Smashed Burgers which are spectacular. Highly recommended.

We dined at this restaurant twice at the end of May. It was truly excellent. The veal saltimbocca and vitello tonato were two dishes we loved. The service is professional, the staff is lovely, and the dining room is truly pleasant.

Delicious food and great service. Very happy we found this away from the tourist area.
