Or perhaps from when the waiter, with an almost angelic stride, placed the work of art in front of me: rigatoni with tomato sauce. Yes, rigatoni with tomato sauce. And calling them "rigatoni" is an understatement: they were cylinders of perfection, likely sculpted by a Renaissance craftsman himself. And the tomato sauce? More than just sauce: it was liquid poetry, an ode to the sun, the very essence of the Mediterranean captured on a plate. At my first bite, I had a moment of inner silence. I think I saw the Duomo light up with an unusual glow, and for a moment, it seemed as if the Naviglio canal was flowing faster. Even my Apple Watch registered an unexpected emotional surge.
