La Pagul Ristorante In Mergozzo

In un angolo un po' nascosto di Mergozzo c'è questo piccolo ristorante con pochi tavoli, un ambiente rustico e familiare. Il locale offre un menù di piatti regionali che si distingue dagli altri ristoranti del posto perché evita il consueto pesce di lago. Primi e secondi, che comprendono carne e pesce, risultano non troppo elaborati ma ottimamente preparati e lasciano il palato soddisfatto. Accoglienza e servizio cordiali , prezzi estremamente interessanti, considerato il posto. Da ritornarci.

For five years, “La Pagul” has been my culinary anchor point whenever I’m in the area. In total I have visited this enchanting Italian restaurant six times and each time it has been a true feast for the senses. “La Pagul” embodies everything that defines Italian cuisine. The menu is rich in authentic dishes prepared with the finest ingredients and an unparalleled attention to detail. Whether homemade pasta, juicy meat dishes or fresh seafood - every dish impresses with its deep flavors and excellent quality. The desserts are also a delight that round off the meal perfectly. Accompanied by an excellent selection of wines, every visit becomes an unforgettable experience. However, the heart of “La Pagul” is the service. Run by a warm-hearted Italian family, you feel welcome from the first moment. The hosts take the time to get to know their guests and offer not only excellent recommendations but also a hospitality that adds a personal touch to each visit. This family atmosphere ensures that you feel at home every time. The way “La Pagul” dealt with the Corona period was particularly impressive. Despite the challenges, quality remained high and everything was done to ensure the safety and well-being of guests. Even today, after the pandemic, the restaurant has lost none of its magic and continues to impress with the same high standards. “La Pagul” is more than just a restaurant – it is a place where the soul of Italy comes to life. Every time I'm in the area I'll definitely stop by again. Anyone who loves Italian cuisine should definitely not miss “La Pagul”. An absolute must for every foodie!

Very pleasant restaurant near Lake Mergozzo. Staff and owner very friendly and kind. All good! He also gave me a jar of bagna cauda at the end of lunch. Top!

Main point of criticism: Price/performance wasn't right for us. Fish/seafood from the grill was done ok, cooking points also ok. Cold roast veal with potatoes and some rocket/cherry tomatoes was simply far too little for the hefty price of over 20 euros. Otherwise we ordered cocoa gnocchi. To be honest, we got what we ordered, but the dish somehow didn't make much sense and the sauce didn't really have any flavor either. However, ravioli in sage butter was good. Coffee and panna cotta were ok too, but nothing more. The house wine rosé was good and the price was ok, but we had several times better and cheaper. Unfortunately it's a shame overall and far from worth the 130 euros.

Opinions divided depending on the dishes chosen. Very nice home. Pleasant terrace. The menu is varied but the quality varies greatly. The fish and gnocchi were not convincing. The lasagna and seafood salad were very popular. Special mention for the spritz which is perfect!
