We stayed one night; actually, it's more of a refuge than a hostel, super clean and comfortable (although it's bunk beds).
The good:
- Excellent facilities for the price (in addition to the room, you pay €3 tourist tax per person). One of the cheapest options in Cogne.
- Temperate; we weren't cold at all.
- The rooms are clean, with plenty of outlets, lighting, and lockers.
- The staff is friendly and speaks (a little) English.
- They let us store our backpacks after checkout free of charge.
- There's only one restaurant next door, but it's a very good one. 10% off if you stay there.
- You can leave things in their refrigerator. There's no kitchen.
As a possible drawback,
- The reception is closed from 12 to 3 p.m.! BE CAREFUL, because you won't be able to get in; not only is check-in prohibited during those hours, but the hostel is CLOSED. (We arrived in the rain, and luckily someone let us in, but it was only luck.)
- It's a 20-minute walk from Cogne, with a bit of an incline, but the free bus (towards Gimillan) also serves, at least in the summer.
- We didn't have breakfast (thank goodness), because I think it's bad. Everything is packaged. It's better to go down to the village and have breakfast there, or bring things and store them in the refrigerator. It'll be better!
