La Mimosa In L'aquila

Each restaurant chooses how to present itself in terms of service, kindness, location, and attention to detail. La Mimosa has chosen to give itself a 3-star rating, overall. You'll eat mediocre fish, some even a little better. The service is simply there, flawless but also lacking in courtesy. The food is okay: without special flavors or recipes; the fish is neither fresh nor pureed. So in the end, you won't suffer or be thrilled. And you won't remember or return.

The quality of the fish is truly excellent, especially for a mountain restaurant. The portions are very generous, and the pasta dishes are almost equivalent to two or three portions, so I recommend choosing just one type. The only flaw is the service, which is a bit slow—perhaps because the restaurant was busy that day. All in all, the quality and flavor are truly good, and the price is more than reasonable!

The atmosphere is a bit old-fashioned, with yellow walls covered in paintings depicting—obviously—mimosas. The service is quiet and serious (let's just say a smile wouldn't hurt) but efficient: the waitress passes between the tables with a trolley carrying appetizers and enormous first courses. The mixed cold and hot appetizers are tasty and varied: one is enough for two (or two for three) if you don't want to fill up too quickly. The focaccia (not included in the final bill) is crispy and warm (a bit too salty but tasty). Available only in the evening. The first courses are incredibly generous: we ordered two for three (if there are two of you, one is definitely enough). The mezzemaniche with lobster is better than the spaghetti with clams (more delicate flavor but still good), with a fantastic sauce. The desserts are negligible (pre-packaged). The service isn't always fast, but considering the super fair prices, it's definitely worth a stop for a good seafood dinner. We paid €30 per person, which included wine and ice cream at the end (the vanilla ice cream was good, drowned in whiskey in our case).

A great place to go! Pasta, meat, fish and pizza of excellent quality! Punctual service and maximum cordiality and friendliness. I recommend the seafood pizza! Quiet and clean environment. Must try!
