As pilgrims, a sublime welcome and a mouth-watering dinner! I've never had chickpea soup like this!! Ask for the apple pie to finish off the meal! Tag me as soon as you discover the recipes!!

Excellent first courses (it's a spaghetti restaurant) with a variety of appetizers. Excellent service, courteous and smiling staff. Amazing homemade desserts. Perfect!

In the center of Altopascio, in a quaint setting, we visited for lunch in mid-November 2025. The intimate, family-friendly restaurant welcomes you warmly and simply, introducing you to the restaurant's philosophy—primarily a spaghetti restaurant serving traditional and daily express dishes. For two, we chose tagliolini of the day (garlic, oil, and chili pepper with broccoli) and spaghetti alla pirata (similar to puttanesca, with olives and capers, spicy). We began with an excellent and generous appetizer of raw ham (Tuscan and flavorful, excellent) and freshly seasoned pecorino cheese. The appetizer was delicious, and the first courses were excellent (prepared on the spot and perfectly al dente). A quart of wine, water, and two coffees, for €47. Fast and discreet service. In short, an excellent stop for a traditional yet high-quality business lunch, although not cheap.

We were driving through Altopascio after having visited Lucca, and because of a traffic snarl we decided on an unplanned stop to wait for traffic to clear. Wandering the streets in the early evening in search of a restaurant, we spotted La Loggia nestled under, yes, a beautiful Medici loggia. We were kindly ushered in despite being early, and offered an opportunity to wait, "for the water to boil". As we sat, the place slowly filled with locals, all of whom were clearly regulars. Their warmth and camaraderie with Alessandro, the proprietor, made for a truly convivial atmosphere, and we found ourselves being introduced to another patron who, it turned out, was an internationally known and locally renowned artist. Alessandro's friendliness was genuine and made us feel like we were parting from family at the end of our wonderful evening. And the food. What can I say? The best spaghetti we have had in all our Italian travels. The traditional Tuscan pea soup was superb. We would have gladly paid three times what the modest bill came to for such a memorable experience. Thank you, Alessandro and the staff of Loggia for an evening we will never forget!

We had a great meal in a lovely atmosphere. Delicious vegetarian platter and excellent spaghetti. Friendly owner, easy to talk to. Excellent service from a young woman with beautiful curls (but that's beside the point 😀), who appreciated the compliment (nice too).

Love in pasta form. If you need anything in your life, it'll probably be in a plate of spaghetti from La Loggia.
