We went to Grosio to see Nicola Di Cesare's hidden garden and nearby we found this place to stop for lunch. It was a nice surprise both for the hospitality and the food. Giovanna proves to be not only a good cook for the local dishes she offers, but also a person who questions herself since she comes into the room and explains what she proposes. Congratulations and if you want to go to Grosio, combine business with pleasure. A good lunch and a beautiful panoramic walk full of beautiful works by Nicola will brighten your day.

Beautiful inn in Valtellina, very good dishes but personally a little low in terms of quantity, average price. The negative point is the service, very hasty, almost as if they wanted us to get up as soon as possible.

Having landed in this village by chance due to my wife's school competition, we freed ourselves around 2pm so the only AIC place where we could eat gluten-free as we were celiac was about to close. I quickly search online and find La Locanda di Giovanna which, despite not being AIC certified, serves gluten-free dishes. I call and ask her what time the restaurant closes because being celiac we don't know where to go to eat but at the same time we don't want to disturb us, we are told not to worry, that they would have waited for us without problems, regarding the gluten-free dishes we should have oriented ourselves on polenta sliced or according to the dishes. The first courses must be booked in advance, but for us no problem, we are satisfied even if we would have liked to taste a nice plate of pizzoccheri.
Only 15 minutes later we are at the table, we ask the waitress information about the gluten-free main courses and starters, who, to be on the safe side, sends Giovanna to the table to explain the various possibilities. Once she arrived, she informed us, to our great happiness, that she had cooked two portions of gluten-free pizzoccheri given our interest, but we had to wait a bit, no problem... let's take a platter as an appetizer.
The cured meats on the platter as well as the cheeses were really of excellent quality, but certainly the king of the lunch was the pizzocchero, drowned in plenty of cheese, butter and vegetables, a real delicacy!! I had already eaten gluten-free pizzoccheri in the valley but never anything like this, which is why I also complimented Giovanna who is truly a kind and thoughtful person.
Obviously I give 5 Stars for the quality of the products offered, but also for the location, the service, but also for the surprise in having made us find some excellent gluten-free pizzoccheri!
I hope there is another opportunity one day.

I basically confirm my previous opinion. Good sciatt, good pizzoccheri but I've eaten better ones. Above all, too much haste between one course and another on the part of the staff, obviously...
If I'm having dinner with friends who I see twice a year I would also relax a little and definitely enjoy the food more 😊
Instead it seems that they will have to close by 9.30pm at the latest 🤷🏻♀️
Sciatt excellent and pizzoccheri good, but for my taste a little too many "loose" potatoes. Service was decidedly accelerated, as we pointed out to Mrs. Giovanna... It was an evening with friends and we could easily breathe a little between one course and another. However overall it is worth a visit!
