I have a profound envy for the inhabitants of San Quirico for the possibility of having restaurants like Fonte Alla Vena within walking distance as well as other excellent restaurants. Discovered last year thanks to the Michelin guide and finally tried it during the second trip to Val D'Orcia, I can only agree with the praise we find among the comments. A truly impeccable treatment: they let us know several hours before where the parking lots were located near the restaurant. We were welcomed with the evident and usual kindness and friendliness found in the area, a sign of the good common practice of those who know how to treat customers who come from all over the globe and of the passion with which they carry out their work. The waiters accompanied us into the warm room illuminated by a thin light and a small candle at the side of the table. The typical dishes of Valdorciana and Tuscan cuisine made us take a pleasant leap back into the past, allowing us to once again savor the traditional cuisine of the place. Pici all'aglione stronger than ever and handmade. Delicate and enveloping truffle tagliolini. Cinta Senese ribeye and veal peposo are simply unforgettable. The joy on the face of my partner who tasted these dishes for the first time is priceless. To conclude, a panforte offered by the house worthy of its name and a caprese cake. Excellent service, perfect timing, prompt and kind waiters. We left happy and happy to have put our stomachs there and with the desire to be able to return as soon as possible. A great dinner! I'll start by giving my best compliments to Cristian and Isabella regarding the quality of their preparations and the love they put into their dishes. You feel that they are not just dishes, but something more. In fact, you can also see the continuous study behind the dishes that come out of the kitchen: combinations, perfect cooking and dishes that look like works of art. I highly recommend the livers which go perfectly with the pan dei santi. I would also like to thank Anna for her kindness and professionalism. I felt truly at ease at the table with his attention, inevitable, but without being intrusive and with a manner that would make Donna Letizia envious. My praise also goes to Marco who, as a good professional, made me have a pleasant evening, between one joke and another he never failed to smile at the table. Ristorante Fonte Alla Vena is located on the outskirts of San Quirico d'Orcia and is a must stop for anyone visiting the Tuscan countryside (especially for those already staying in San Quirico d'Orcia!). They offer very traditional and delicious Tuscan dishes that are super affordable for Tuscany being such a touristy region. It has received the Michelin Bib Gormand for many consecutive years since 2019! Items tried: Pappa al pomodoro (traditional Tuscan dish that's made by simmering bread with a tomato-based sauce until the bread is completely soft and custardy!) Duck breast, small pear and fermented cabbage (Petto di anatra, pera picciola e verza fermentata) Baked pears with saffron and citrus cream (Pere cotte caramellate allo zafferano con panna di agrumi ) Make reservations ahead of time as the restaurant is super popular to no surprise! They also had the coolest glass wine decanter to pour exactly one glass of wine! They sell it if you're interested in purchasing on your way out!

Location: fuori dal borgo, ha tavoli interni in graziose sale e tavoli esterni fronte strada, per fortuna non molto trafficata. Menu: ottimo e di qualità. Prodotti tipici del territorio, con piacevoli varianti. Ne vale la pena fermarsi e gustarlo. Servizio: gentile, discreto e disponibile. Prezzo: nella media Soddisfatti

E ' perfetto per festeggiare un 'occasione speciale perché è un locale molto raccolto, di un'eleganza discreta, dove ci si trova subito a proprio agio, anche grazie all ottimo servizio, cordiale ma non invasivo. I cibi sono di ottimo livello e non e' facile scegliere fra le diverse proposte, anche fuori del menù . Noi abbiamo scelto pici all aglione, una tagliata con riduzione di vino veramente gustosa ed un sorprendente "costoleccio" di cinta senese al miele e paprika, molto sfizioso. Conto in fase con la qualità dei cibi , la bella location frutto di un' attenta ristrutturazione conservativa che ha reso il locale molto accogliente ed il servizio cordiale. Da tornarci assolutamente.
