La Locanda del Mirto In La maddalena

My fiancé and I spent about ten days in the Maddalena archipelago, and we were looking for a place to eat typical island and Sardinian food, and here we found it! The menu features traditional dishes, including many types of premium meat. The setting is wonderful, very rustic in keeping with Sardinian tradition, with a large wooden dining room and a lush garden with ample parking.

Excellent location, very beautiful, well-maintained, with an almost family-like welcome. The first courses were excellent, refined, and plentiful, cooked with care, and then I ate the best suckling pig I've ever had, far superior to other "renowned" restaurants on the Costa Smeralda... Congratulations and thank you for making our evening a wonderful one.

Delicious cured sheep and goat meats, accompanied by samples of pecorino cheese and local wines. The culurgiones are also excellent. The restaurant is expensive, but after all, we are on the island of La Madalena, and the ingredients are of undeniable quality, in a beautiful location, which I'm told is even better during the day. I only give the foreign waiter 4 stars for service, which is essential in a place like this, but he wasn't able to adequately answer my questions about the local products, something I saw at the adjacent tables served by locals.

We dined at Locanda del Mirto three nights during our week-long stay, and each time was an excellent experience. The meat selection is truly impressive and surprising: we even found Japanese sashimi on the menu. We chose the US Black Angus beef twice, cooked to perfection and of the highest quality. The prices are fair, and the service, contrary to some reviews we'd read, was impeccable and prompt on all three occasions. The owners are very attentive to their customers: their wife is always present at the tables, serving and entertaining with great kindness. The staff also deserves special mention: kind, polite, and professional. A restaurant that absolutely deserves its 5-star rating. We'll definitely be back next year and recommend it to everyone!
