We stayed at the cardinal's inn located in a historic building in the center of Assisi. The location is very elegant and particular. We opted for the "Incontri" tasting menu paired with a bottle of local wine, a high-level culinary experience, everything exquisite and with attention to the smallest details, even the presentation. The passion of the chefs could be felt in their dishes, I hope they get a Michelin star because they deserve it all. The staff were very kind and professional, careful to satisfy our every little request. At the end of lunch we visited the cellar and the ruins of the palace with the historical mosaics. It was wonderful and I highly recommend it.

Beautiful place, Christmas atmosphere, everything super nice... risotto with no flavor... meat to be improved... expectations in a place like this are high!

Outstanding experience. I chose this place for my husband’s love of history and the Roman ruins below the clear flooring of the restaurant. Ruins are also displayed in the restaurant from the excavation of the site. The staff were amazingly friendly and being that we were the first there, gave us a tour below the floor explaining the site. The restaurant itself is a charming juxtaposition of modern and old. The food was outstanding as was the service and hospitality.

We had a really warm, relaxed, enjoyable meal at La Locanda. The location is far better than the photos on the website would suggest, the service was top notch, that wonderful blend of friendly, warm and welcoming with absolute professionalism that is so difficult to get right and the food was superb, taking the traditional and magnifying it just enough to make it really special.

Excellent food, many original and elaborate dishes: slow-cooked pork neck, five types and preparations of tomatoes served in smoked bell jars, stuffed pigeon... sommelier with good advice. Finally, the decor of the room (or rather of the basement seen through transparency) is particularly interesting. A detour to the cellar is magical.

13/01/2025: A little careless, I only had one and a half starters, the room at least one is bare and cold, the staff are kind and welcoming.
09/01/2025: They are different because every time I go to Assisi I eat here. The food has always been good although I think the management has changed since the first times I was there. Together with the context of the Bosco di San Francesco it is truly a special place
