La Libera In Milano

Excellent service & delicious food.

We had a great experience at La Libéra. The staff was friendly and welcoming. For starters, we shared a very good vitello tonnato, followed by the veal chop Milanese, which was excellent, and a special ravioli pasta that was also very tasty. To finish, the tiramisu was outstanding. We highly recommend this restaurant for both its food and service.

As an Italian and a lover of good food I can confirm that this restaurant is an absolute must try. I've already been twice and when I'm in the area I take the opportunity to return and try new dishes always served with care and quality. Welcoming local professional staff and family atmosphere. Not a cheap and touristy place despite being in a very busy and touristy area. Furthermore, as a vegetarian I confirm the presence of various and non-trivial dishes. The wine cellar is good to accompany the meal.

It's a good restaurant but a few details bring the rating down. We realized in the street that we had been charged for a wine that we had never ordered. The restaurant reimbursed us in cash but hey, these moments are not pleasant... Service-wise, it's fast and we don't take the time to help you in your choices. It's expeditious... Avoid red wine in draft, it's not good. Despite everything, the dishes were really good, we ate well. I highly recommend the zucchini flower gratin with ricotta and mint, it’s delicious. Buckwheat pasta is also a good experience.

Overrated i think. We were first guests as we had booked online when it was opening. The staff was not yet overwhelmed so the service was good. The bread they brought us was stale, and they brought a bottle of olive oil telling us how good olive oil was but honestly you never serve olive oil in a bottle for tasting with your bread. The food however was not great and it didn’t worth the price we paid. I left being peckish. Although this restaurant was recommended by a friend of ours, living in Milano we thought that it is a tourist trap and nothing more. There are better restaurants in Milano for sure.

Great break in Brera! Historic Milanese restaurant, with a welcoming dock room and helpful and very quick staff. Good dishes and well presented. Recommended for a quick but tasty break!

Good value for money. The menu has a wide choice, there were five of us and we liked all the dishes ordered very much. The perfectly cooked risotto, the creamed cod and the exquisite red prawn tartare, as well as the pappardelle with white ragù. The desserts are good. Fast and friendly service, even though the place was full. The tables are close together, but the place is absolutely not noisy. Correct bill and lower than the Milanese average. Convenient to reach on foot and by public transport.

Un 4 di incoraggiamento perché c'è da migliorare. Il fatto che sia un locale storico non è garanzia di eccellenza. Secondo me il locale trasuda una certa storia, il personale mi è sembrato cortese (cosa nn scontata a Milano). Le pietanze prese non erano male. Nello specifico salumi, fiori di zucca ripieni e qualche tortina. Carino il fatto che hanno preparato loro inizialmente i piatti e poi inserito i centro tavola (di solito fanno tutto centro tavola e non è come piace a me). Successivamente ho preso tartare di carne con erbette e uovo. Buono. Come dolce ho preso il tortino a cioccolato. Da rivedere assolutamente. Tutto con vino. Le pietanze scelte dipendono dal fatto che la proposta nn è proprio entusiasmante e secondo me qualcosa va fatto (basta con sta cosa del tradizionale nn si cambia). I dolci a 8 euro sono veramente eccessivi perché è una proposta molto scarsa e poco golosa. Secondo me le basi ci sono ma una cosa è locale storico una cosa è proposta vecchia.

Increíble comida milanesa auténtica con un servicio excelente. El camarero era muy amable y nos ayudó con nuestro italiano. Prueba el carpaccio - es delicioso.
