Outstanding food quality and service, if you seek authentic Italian cuisine at the highest level, look no further. La Gare is a hidden gem nestled in Caravaggio, the surrounding areas include a relaxing walk along Santuario boulevard to the Sanctuary of holy virgin of Caravaggio. Mario, the Owner/chef will amaze you with outstanding top quality dishes. I recommend to try the “Carta Bianca” tasting menu for a full dinner experience, you will not forget it, it is worth every penny.

The atmosphere is a bit cold but stylish, the food is good but not as good as the presentation of the dishes and their portion would have you believe.

A lovely restaurant near the train station, with indoor and outdoor seating under a lovely pergola. We tried the business menu with well-prepared and well-cooked dishes. It's not a place where the plates are overflowing with food; the portions are just the right size. Everything was fine.

06/08/2025: Highly recommended. Their focaccia is the best I've had in Liguria and probably the best I've ever had. I've been a couple of times, and the second time I ordered two trays before leaving for home. The owner was really helpful, as I had a train connection and had to rush through everything. I'll definitely be back when I'm in the area again!
