Loved it. Best pizza I’ve had for ages.

The staff were very kind, helpful, and attentive. The carbonara lacked a bit of flavor, but thanks to the generous portions and the addition of a little Parmesan and pepper, it was fine. It was good, but not great, and I'll definitely be back.

My wife and myself were absolutely delighted with the experience we had @ La Fornace. It was indeed moments of extraordinary satisfaction on both times we went there. From the great atmosphere to the delicious dishes and wine we’ve shared, and more especially the warmth welcoming we were received by the owner/manager Nicolo, as well as the very diligent and friendly waiter (Rohmma, forgive me if it’s misspelled) on our first time there. On our second time there we were honored to have the privilege to meet, chat and even take a picture with the big star of the enterprise, Paolo. Based on what we’ve experienced at this second time at this lovely place, and by chatting a little while with Paolo, we were able to understand what lies behind the high success that the restaurant achieved: besides the high quality of the food that they offer to their customers, is primarily the warmth human relationship that they dispense to their clients and Paolo excels on the quality. Any time returning to Rome, having a great meal there will be a MUST.

Great food as a tourist with excellent service

The most delicious Roman pizza. Thin crust and lots of toppings. This "Ortolana" pizza with garlic is my favorite. The food here is delicious. The pasta portions are large, and the filetto al Pepe (beef steak with pepper sauce) is excellent. The prices are the same. I live nearby and come here often. I recommend it!

The criticism is directed at the service. We booked a table for three. When we arrived, they weren't sure where to put us. Then they shoved us into a small round table for two, wedged between other tables. We were with an elderly person with walking difficulties. I asked for another seat since there were three of us and the lady couldn't move very well. They offered us another table. We ordered, and the pizzas, always excellent, arrived promptly. We didn't have time to finish before they pressed us for dessert. We asked for a moment to eat our pizza. They came back again and asked us to order. We ordered dessert. Again they asked if we wanted anything else. They brought us the bill, and I asked them how to pay. I asked, "Are you kicking us out?" The answer was basically yes. The food was delicious, as always, but the service was truly awful.

We were invited to dinner by a friend, and were skeptical because not everyone knows how to make carbonara well, but we quickly changed our minds. The best carbonara we've ever had, and the dish was large enough for almost two people. We'll gladly return. From Calabria, with love.
