We went for lunch today and had a great time. The owner was friendly, the food was good, and the value was excellent.
We'll be back when we can.

The manager had already specified over the phone that pets were not allowed and payment by debit card or credit card would not be possible. He welcomed us warmly and continued to joke around throughout the service. The wait time from the beginning and between courses was a bit long, even though the dining room was only half full. The quality of the food was average, but everything was made on the spot! Free parking and a beautiful view.

How lovely is this restaurant! The entrance is located where the old bar counter used to be and has retained its 60-year-old appearance and furnishings (including the coffee machine, a real treat!) It feels like a true journey back in time. The dining room, while maintaining a simple appearance, has been renovated and is pleasant and clean. The tables are well-spaced, allowing you to chat without anyone nearby and without feeling crowded (excellent!) The owner is affable and friendly, with a quick wit but never overdoing it. The food is excellent and plentiful, structured around a set menu, which we found delicious: entree plus four appetizers, two first courses, two second courses with a side of baked potatoes and pan-fried onions, dessert, coffee, liqueur, and an excellent bottle of house wine. We found everything delicious, especially the tartare, the tongue with green sauce (cooked by them and not pickled, as is usually the case), the cotechino with mashed potatoes (the artisanal cotechino was excellent), the risotto for the first course, and the guinea fowl for the second course (how wonderful it is that a restaurant still serves guinea fowl, a meat dish I love and that unfortunately almost no one makes anymore!), well-browned and flavorful. We also happily accepted several second courses, which are always offered, and we finished feeling full and satisfied with the house amaro (supata braie 😂). All for a final bill of €40 per person, which, considering what we ate and drank, we found absolutely fair.
If you like to eat as much as you want, but also with quality, you're not a snob, and you like rustic, unpretentious places, you'll love it! If, on the other hand, you prefer image over substance and want to choose a few dishes from the menu, forget it, it's not the place for you. We loved it and will definitely be back.
Also nearby is the sulfur spring, now disused, nestled in a grove of trees, with benches offering a welcome break amidst the greenery to digest a sumptuous lunch.
What a lovely little spot we discovered!
