I went for lunch and had a great time. The dining room was packed with customers, and the tables were set differently, but beautifully. The waiter served us with great kindness and professionalism. The dishes were served hot, the fish was very fresh and delicious, everything was prepared with great care, and the wine was excellent. Compliments to the chef and his staff.

A traditional old school vibe, with Italian game show playing on the TV, I felt like I stepped back in time, and I loved it! Great service, kind and professional staff, the food was excellent! Fresh, served piping hot and delicious. Spaghetti Vongole and roasted peppers, so good! The best Panna Cotta!!

Always stating that the evaluations are intended to provide ideas for improvement for the managers, I must observe a clear decline in the quality/price ratio compared to the last time I was there a few months ago.

The food is good and the prices are reasonable. The service leaves a little to be desired, and at the end of the meal they even got our bill wrong.

Excellent quality and a welcoming and well-appointed room, although it reflects the style of a few years ago, the service is a little slow due to the large influx of people but easily forgiveable after having tasted the excellent fixed menu

Maybe it was because there were so many people, but the wait was quite long. But the fish was good and the staff were friendly.

Castello Marcantonio

01/06/2025: A monument that stands on the remains of a large Roman villa, inhabited until late antiquity, which between the 6th and 7th centuries became a castrum of those Byzantines who had retained control of the nearby port of Aternum (Pescara) as a fundamental landing place and intermediate port between the capital of the Exarchate Ravenna and Constantinople, and who clearly created the first nucleus of the historic Torre Alex (from Alessandro Valignano, one of the lords of the Valignano family of Cepagatti in the 17th century). The tower was consolidated in the Lombard era as a control point of a strategic road junction at the crossroads between the S.S. Picena Aprutina and the routes that went up to Forca di Penne and the Aquilano, and which from the 11th-12th centuries became the seat of the lords of the fiefdom of the Norman, Swabian and Angevin eras of Cepagatti, and then passed from the 15th century to the Valignano family and finally to the current owners. The first archaeological investigations by the Superintendency date back to the 1970s and continued between 1998 and 2011 in Piazza S. Rocco, bringing to light important evidence of the Roman era preserved in the City Council Hall. The restoration of the Castle returns to the public the so-called “sala delle cisterne” (cistern room), an authentic and rare Roman cistern 22 meters long and 4 meters wide, as well as the “sala del grano” (grain room), 340 square meters large on the top floor of the monument with a panoramic view of the Pescara valley. The restoration of the Marcantonio Castle, begun in 2008, represents a “place in history” and the over 2000 square meters spread over 4 levels offer the possibility of hosting particularly evocative events. Unfortunately, it is now in decline due to problems with the owners and is closed. Too bad...

RISTORANTE IL MONASTERO

06/09/2025: A fantastic experience. Beautiful property with a dreamy internal courtyard. Huge, clean, and quiet room. Clelia's hospitality is truly indescribable, and the breakfast is second to none. A strategic location for exploring this beautiful and diverse region. We will definitely be back, highly recommended.
04/09/2025: We just left this B&B after three days of peace and quiet that rejuvenated our minds, leaving us far from the chaos of everyday life. Clelia is a delightful host who pampered us with her super breakfasts! The location is much more beautiful in person than it appears on the website, a bit like stepping back in time. The location is very convenient for excursions to both the Gran Sasso and Majella mountains! We will definitely be back. Highly recommended! Thanks again, Clelia! Micaela
