We went to the tavern this evening. Good quality, low quantity. 30% surcharge for New Year's Eve absolutely unjustified. The evening was also managed with two shifts forcing us to leave the table by 9.30pm.

A prima vista potrebbe sembrare il classico posto turistico, eppure è un luogo incantevole ed accogliente, personale gentile, pietanze squisite. Abbiamo provato sia le orecchiette al tegamino che quelle alla materana, per secondo invece le bombette, la salsiccia di vitello e le loro patate al forno. Niente da dire, tutto perfetto, cibo di qualità e preparato alla perfezione. Se siete a Matera, fateci un salto, non ve ne pentirete!

We booked with the app and had reservations. Nice and very Christmassy atmosphere tending towards rustic, excellent food and I recommend the appetizer with crusco pepper. The service was impeccable. Very friendly staff. Highly recommended

Passing through Matera we stop at the Osteria Fredda Rossa a few steps from the panorama of the Sassi. They let us sit in the room with awnings... a bit of the cold passed, the nice thing is that they provide each diner with a blanket. All good, let's start with a first course Orecchiette with turnip greens, anchovies, pepper, crusco and crumbled tarallo, really excellent, a mix of flavors that are worth trying, the only flaw was that we had asked for one to share at the table but the waiter insisted on dividing it directly in the kitchen without however specifying that on the final bill it would then no longer be counted as a single first course but as 2 tastings, thus increasing the price of the first course from €14 to €18. We then had the pork shank with baked potatoes, good flavor, tender meat and nice tasty potatoes. Friendly staff.

My wife and I had lunch and dinner at this place last weekend. We ate very well. We were recommended some typical Matera dishes. The staff, very kind and helpful. Especially the lady, whose name I don't know, a nice person and always ready to explain the dishes we were ordering. The owner, Mrs. Anna Lisa, a perfect hostess. If you come to Matera, you won't regret it

We were there last Sunday with the family. I must say that as a place it is quite central, the place is nice on the outside with the particularity of the blankets made available to customers. Inside it seems small, I didn't have the opportunity to see if it even had an internal room. The service was normal, we didn't wait long for lunch. The staff was quite helpful and smiling, with a service that took care of even the small details. Moving on to food: The platter of cold cuts and cheeses was quite welcome, but you could still feel the flavors of the raw material that is symbolic of the place. The bruschetta isn't bad either! Personally I decided to try a first course that I had never tried and I was pleasantly satisfied. The ferricelli initially appeared bitter, but as we proceeded with the tasting of the first course, and by mixing the stracciatella with the crusco pepper and the crumbs, a balanced flavor was obtained which satisfied me. Finally we liked the desserts. The bill was very affordable, and I recommend this place for anyone who wants to enjoy a good meal at affordable prices!

Per caso, in una sera d’agosto. Ci siamo avvicinati durante una passeggiata sul corso. Prenotato tavolo per 7 da lì ad 1 ora. Personale gentilissimo. Location caratteristica. Piatti della tradizione ben cucinati e con buona materia prima. Vino in bottiglia locale. Prezzo onesto ed adeguato alla qualità dei piatti (circa 30 euro a testa, vino e bevande comprese). Da annotare per una prossima visita. PS braciole ottime!
