La Fata Ignorante In Roma

We came here on a rainy day and the rooftop is partially inside with the option of sitting under umbrellas with patio heaters. It is cool to be on the rooftop, but there isn't much of a view as such. We had some nice cocktails and bar food was top notch

Are the roasted veggies, pesto pasta, and the focaccia. All was delicious!!

Loved the burrata filled gnocchi with octopus ragù. Service was warm and attentive. Nice colorful décor.

Don't be discouraged by the bland hotel lobby or the modestly updated fifth floor "rooftop"setting. The staff is genuinely welcoming, the menu is creative and more importantly well executed. There are some passionate and talented people in the kitchen. They also manage to deliver an artful menu at a very reasonable price point. Almost every half way upscale hotel in Rome is trying to get into the gourmet dining business with varying levels of success and satisfaction. Until recently, I have told my friends that we don't like to eat in hotels (except in France) unless the city is under siege. Italian hotels are doing a better job in employing serious chefs ad we are all the better for it. You could easily spend 2-4 times more for an upscale dinner in this city. Sometimes it is worth it, but not always. If you can skip some of the more exotic ingredients and having someone park your wine bottle two or three meters away so they can serve you when they get around to it, this pleasant venue should be on your short list.
