We were here for mid-August, nothing to say about the food and service. The only negative note is that although we had booked well in advance (about 10 days) our table was located near the bathroom from which a nauseating smell came. Among other things, the bathrooms were practically unusable as they were dirty. We especially liked the starters and main courses.

Typical mountain restaurant located in Verteglia. Ample internal parking, lots of fresh air, indoor and outdoor tables. We booked the table in advance. Upon our arrival we ordered a central starter for 4 people, 4 first courses, a second course of meat with side dish, 4 desserts, coffee and bitters. Total cost approximately €100. Right starter, good first courses. I recommend the pan-fried cavatelli and the ravioli with sauce. Nice day spent in company. Courteous staff.

We arrived without having booked and fortunately we found space outside, however inside there is a large room that we can use.. From the dishes I had the opportunity to see, I can deduce that the first courses as well as the meat look excellent and a pleasant smell. Unfortunately I think I made the wrong choice. I chose a hot and cold starter and would not choose it again. I asked and I knew that the products were not home-grown but still local, but I was enticed by the presence of the parmigiana. Obviously I was expecting the square piece of parmesan while upon arrival I was able to see that it was a slice of aubergine with a piece of cheese melted in the oven on top. Overall, I didn't like the dish in terms of flavor and as it presented itself to me, I did not find value for money.
The scamorza with porcini mushrooms and truffles is good and the cheese they produce is equally good.
Beyond the lunch, served with attention and kindness, having centuries-old beech trees of great beauty in front of us, I would like to give some advice to the owner if I may. In the children's area, I would like to suggest some outdoor armchairs, the comfortable plastic ones on which you can sit after lunch and enjoy the pleasant fresh air. I hope you can take my advice because it was a shame to have been forced to leave practically immediately after getting up from the table.
However, if you have children it is the right place for you, a quiet, cool and fenced space.

Lunch is served!
Podolica steak, potatoes and porcini mushrooms.
Well, it's really well made for two cyclists, or rather for two cycle tour guides who give each other a cuddle after a morning of work.
But yes, let's have a salad, a beer, better two if it's hot, ice cream and coffee. Now it seems like everything is there. Ah, I almost forgot about the homemade tiramisu!
Congratulations as always, Lucia with her allergy problem ate everything, right down to the gluten-free and lactose-free ice cream.
This allows us to enjoy lunch outside the home, in the certainty of not having to resort to repairs.
Mid-August sold out so, put a map in your backpack and go along the Terminio paths on a mountain bike, but we'll stop by and have a coffee, but maybe also a dessert at the bar counter.

Il luogo: veramente caratteristico, un altopiano fresco e non inflazionato, purtroppo, come sempre da queste parti, abbandonato a se stesso.
La location: niente di che. Un casone adibito a ristorante che sembra uscito direttamente dagli anni 80 e, da allora, probabilmente, mai rinnovato.
Il cibo: leggermente superiore alla media della zona (ristoranti o trattorie con prezzo medio 30 euro a persona della provincia avellinese) dove vige la convinzione che basti accendere un fuoco per fare una grigliata. Tagliata di carne di buona qualità ma, ahimè, cotta malamente e non uniformemente (una parte molto ma molto al sangue - per non dire cruda - ed una mezza al sangue ).
Pasta varia in tegamino al forno raffazzonata ma mangiabile, sembra, comunque, un piatto "casuale" senza una logica propria.
Il "parco giochi" per i bambini: un orrenda accozzaglia di giochi in ferro con molti pezzi rotti e arrugginiti. Si rischia l'incidente serio! Attenzione!
Infine, attenzione al bestiame libero che invade la strada, si rischia ad ogni curva l'incidente.
Insomma: se siete tipi facilmente accontentabili e di bocca buona il posto fa per voi altrimenti se cercate cibo locale a km zero e di buona qualità e preparazione andate altrove.

Personale ben organizzato, abbiamo mangiato molto bene, sia i primi piatti che la carne era tutto ottimo. il parco giochi per bambini molto grande e curato.
