By pure chance, eight of us found ourselves knocking on the door of this charming little restaurant at 1:30 PM on January 1st. The owners were incredibly kind, welcoming us and serving us attentively. The food was all delicious, the house wine was perfect to accompany the dishes, and the homemade desserts were delicious! The atmosphere was clean and welcoming.
A pleasant discovery that I highly recommend!

A family atmosphere and attention to detail. The manager is very willing to accommodate every need. Traditional Lucca dishes vary seasonally, with the addition of special menu items. A good selection of wines. It's like dining with family, but with class and elegance.

I arrived quite late for lunch and asked if I cld still be seated. They were happy to serve me.
The meal was very nice. Well cooked starter and pasta. I also enjoyed my mixed salad, which had not only tomato and carrots, but also actually mixed salad leaves. When I saw the person at the next table had peas I asked if I cld have them too and was promptly served a bowl. Nice selection of home made puddings.
The other guests were all Italian, which in general is a good sign.

We went to La Dispensa for lunch. I can confirm the good reviews I've read. We ate typical dishes and dishes: Tuscan crostini with chicken livers, polenta crostini with porcini mushrooms, wild boar salami, Tuscan coppa, Serrano ham shoulder, and salami. Everything was delicious. Florentine tripe, tagliatelle with local porcini mushrooms, and Lucca-style tordelli with Tuscan ragù. Excellent dishes. The house Chianti is also good. The bill was reasonable for the quality, and the kindness of the owner makes us say we'll definitely be back to try other dishes.
