We stopped by on our way back from vacation without any particular needs and instead we were surprised. Excellent cuisine, excellent value for money... For dessert, I recommend the fabulous ricotta tart... 10 points to the host Angelino, he knows his job well.

Everything you'd want to find 1,000 km from home. Super welcoming, friendly staff who love their work. Exceptional food, prepared with great care! The owner and his wife are super helpful, making dinner an experience! I'll be back with great happiness if I ever come back again!!! Congratulations!!!! <3

A rustic and very welcoming osteria, right in the historic center, with air conditioning and pleasant background music. We had lunch with an appetizer of a vegetable tart with cream cheese, a first course of fresh pici all'ortolana, and a tiramisu for my husband; I just had coffee. Everything was very good and flavorful.

Didn’t make reservations, but they prepared a table quickly. Lovely place, delicious food. Waitress speaks perfect English and menu is also in English, she explained the menu perfectly for the dishes we didn’t understand. We had a lovely fist evening in Tuscany with delicious food. Grazie mille!

Very nice location and more than decent cuisine at an affordable price. However, I have to remove two stars, even though what I ate was good, for a couple of issues that deserve mention. The portions are truly too meager for a place that presents itself as an osteria, with an osteria menu, and plates like an osteria. No one here asks for a big meal, but a couple more forkfuls of pasta wouldn't have sent us to the hospital for indigestion, nor would they have ruined the owner. The same goes for the potatoes, which I suspected were out of stock and made two portions out of one. I deliberately mentioned the less expensive ingredients, which make little difference economically. Another aspect, no less important, is the cover charge. €2.50 per person is already annoying on principle, but it's even more so at the outdoor tables, where they make you eat on a plastic placemat. So the cover charge ends up seeming like just an unfair way to increase the bill. If they really think it makes sense to still charge a cover charge in 2025, they should at least set the tables outside properly, too. No hard feelings.

One of the most beautiful places in Altopascio. Insane decor and attention to detail. Excellent food and carefully set up. Open outside in the summer, it is a gem for this area. Helpful and knowledgeable staff. I recommend everything because we often come here and have never been disappointed. We are in the industry and we can say that it is difficult to find places like this. We came here, we returned and we will return!!!!

11/10/2025: Excellent quality and warm hospitality, fair prices, and a relaxed atmosphere. We dined as a couple on a Saturday night without a reservation, and they seated us right away. Highly recommended!

L'ottavo Vizio - Street Food / Food Porn Gourmet

07/09/2025: First time. Tiny takeout shop with a fabulous menu: incredibly original and delicious sandwiches. We tried the Vizio Gola with Chianina tuna, and Ira with zucchini flowers and orange zest, and... we decided to return to try the others. The owner is friendly and very kind. The Avarizia sandwich is brilliant: just bread (which is actually focaccia bread) with nothing inside, obviously extremely cheap! 😁. September 2025: Four years have passed, and we've been back every year (every time we pass through Viareggio), and it has never disappointed us. We'd tried almost all the "Vizi" (and a few small dishes), but never the Ottavo. So this time we try it: you think it's a normal burger, but you immediately realize it's not... Chianina beef burger, salad and cherry tomatoes, thin caciobuffalo cheese, magnificent caramelized Tropea onions, a little bell pepper, and... crispy pancetta, all in "their" special, delicious bread. And nothing... we even "dipped" the sauce left on the menu. Don't be scared by the price, it's worth it! The quality is excellent, the atmosphere small but welcoming, and the owner, Marco, is friendly and very helpful. And if you have to wait... just wait, you won't regret it. P.S. I'm not his sister! 😉
27/08/2025: Good street food, not cheap but quality comes at a cost, the boss is friendly and polite, worth at least a visit.
