05/08/2023: We had no plans for lunch. We had eaten a good breakfast at our hotel and we had a dinner reservation elsewhere. But, as we were leisurely walking around Siena, our eyes stopped at this place. It looked good, nice and orderly, tables were filling up and the menu sounded great. We went in and asked for a table. This spur-of-the-moment decision opened up our best meal in Siena, probably our best meal in Italy. The table was comfortable. The presentation was great. The head waiter, who hailed from Cuzco, was excellent, personable and helpful. But it was the food that won us over. We ordered light. We had codfish tiramisu (a first-time experience) and linguine to follow. These were the highlights. Our eyes fixated on a Magnum pecorino ice cream - yes, an ice cream made from pecorino cheese in the shape of a Magnum. A nice cocktail and a solid glass of red from the region rounded off our meal.
