La Cucina di San Pietro a Pettine In Trevi

The jewel in the crown of the picturesque San Pietro a Pettine estate is its original restaurant, all about truffles. At sunset, on the panoramic hillside terrace, original and delicious aperitifs are served, along with amuse bouche such as "Frascarelli" with black truffle, anchovies, and lemon. For appetizers, we enjoyed the excellent "Uovo nero" with potatoes, onion, confit, and black truffle, and the "Cannara," a symphony of flavors composed of Cannara onions, Barena honey, lavender, and morel mushrooms. The same quality and originality are evident in the first and second courses, such as gnocchi and strangozzi, or lamb and guinea fowl. The palate was complemented by attentive, informative and friendly service.

An Unexpected Detour Turned Into a Magical Experience When our car broke down in the middle of nowhere in Umbria in the Fall of 2024, we thought our evening was doomed. But as luck would have it, our reservation at La Cucina di San Pietro a Pettine was still on the horizon. We called ahead to explain our delay, and to our surprise, the restaurant went above and beyond, sending not one, but two cars to rescue us! This gesture alone set the tone for what would turn into an unforgettable evening. Upon arrival, we were welcomed with warmth and charm, instantly swept up in the magical atmosphere of the restaurant. Nestled in the rolling hills of Umbria, the restaurant exudes rustic elegance, with its beautiful stone walls, soft lighting, and panoramic views of the surrounding countryside. It was like stepping into a fairytale, and the calming setting immediately lifted our spirits. The real magic, however, came from the food. Each dish was a celebration of local ingredients and traditional Umbrian flavors, prepared with skill and passion. We started with a rich antipasto platter of cured meats, cheeses, and homemade breads that left us craving more. The main courses were equally impressive—tender pasta, perfectly roasted meats, and fresh, vibrant vegetables that tasted like they’d been picked just moments before. By the time we reached dessert, we were completely enchanted—not just by the food, but by the whole experience. The service was impeccable, the ambiance was warm and inviting, and every bite was a reminder of why Umbria is such a special place. Despite the rocky start to our evening, La Cucina di San Pietro a Pettine turned what could have been a stressful situation into a perfect night. We’ll definitely be coming back the next time we’re in Umbria—this gem of a restaurant has earned a spot at the top of our list.

what a fabulous place, absolutely beautiful views you feel like you are IN umbria completely immersed. the sun sets while you have exquisite drinks and food. recomendaciones - #1 rose spritz (home brewed bitters) DO NOT MISS #2 tasting portions from chef #3 chefs truffle black egg + wine #4 olive oil made from trees 2 meters away! the service makes you feel special, so well taken care of. mellow jazz plays. there may not me a more beautiful dining experience that’s truly umbria. authentic, without trying too hard to be so. federico and sophia made our evening ❤️ thank you so much

My boyfriend and I were guests of the property, staying in a beautiful room for three nights. The property is magnificent, surrounded by greenery and not at all noisy. We had dinner at La Cucina di San Pietro a Pettine, tasting local products at an almost starred level. We took part in the truffle hunt and it was beautiful to witness the relationship between the dogs and the truffle hunters. The courtesy, kindness and care of the staff is unbeatable. Every person there took care of us from our arrival to our departure, pampering us in every possible way. The owner is an exceptional person. It is a magical place where excellent food, nature, animals and people make you want to return immediately.

We had a fantastic evening! The food was absolutely delicious, with wonderful flavors and a thoughtful use of local ingredients. The wines were truly special, and we were pleasantly surprised with several extra small dishes to try. Inside, the restaurant looks quite chic, but the atmosphere is cozy and inviting rather than formal—thanks in large part to the incredibly kind and enthusiastic staff. We highly recommend dining here!
