As beautiful and welcoming as ever, the church of S Maria delle Grazie was full, with people standing behind. It is packed like the churches of the past, many years ago... The good Capuchins leave nothing to be desired... This evening too, a beautiful edifying homily from a young friar. It was understood in concelebration; the s. communion participated in large numbers; and with the singing of the TE DEUM at the end of the mass, (like every end of the year), which I too was able to accompany in some way... Followed by the Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, and finished with the solemn blessing.

Peace of mind. I recommend anyone to pass through San Giovanni Rotondo at least once, especially in periods when there is not the slightest bit of crowding. You can experience the sacredness of the places in an intimate and serene way.

Poste Pio would never have wanted that horror of the new church, too sumptuous, too gold colored, too luxury, much better to visit the small old church, the rest is just business.
