Best host and accommodation we had in Valle Maira! Marta, we will come back!

A very well-organized refuge/staging post. Two dormitories with new beds with wooden bases, excellent mattresses, and very clean bathrooms and showers. The dining area is very beautiful, with excellent food. The owner is a kind person who goes out of her way to make you feel comfortable...a truly sweet woman...I absolutely recommend this refuge wholeheartedly.

The best place in Valle Maira! The hostess is super friendly and runs the refuge with a lot of heart and attention to detail! You feel at home here from the very first second!

Thank you Marta for the hospitality you give to the guests who stop in your refuge. I say "yours" because you are the true soul of those walls in that corner of paradise in the Maira Valley. Newly renovated building with spacious dormitories and comfortable bathrooms (a little less showers). Common room with fireplace and adjoining bar area. Spectacular place in the village of Ussuolo where it seems that time has stopped. Marta's cuisine made with the heart. The door is always open even just for a coffee with some resident. From Ussuolo's "first aid for the mind" cassette I borrowed a book of short stories by Pirandello. It's a good reason to come back to visit you from Venice and make it available to someone who needs it. Prints with faded colors emerge from your Polaroid but with portraits that express a moment of happiness experienced together. See you soon Marta and thanks again...

The “La Carlina” refuge, located in the beautiful and quiet village of Ussolo, is an excellent choice for visiting the Maira valley or simply relaxing for a few days. The building is totally renovated and the environment is clean and welcoming. The cuisine is tasty but at the same time simple and light, making it very suitable for those who want to go on excursions. A big thank you to Marta for the passion with which she manages the structure and the care and attention with which she welcomes guests.

Marta's welcome, the pleasantness of the structure and the substantial (but highly digestible!) food make "La Carlina" an excellent starting point for exploring the valley.
