We walked in and were seated immediately by a pleasent man I assumed was the owner. The food was very good and the service correct. We were only in Carrara for the day otherwise I'd love to go back. The Capinera is an out of the way gem.

A beautifully decorated restaurant with marble tables, some with inlaid designs in various colors. Anarchist-inspired plaques and busts adorn the tables. The chef is courteous and friendly, a Genoa fan. The food is more than interesting. Typical dishes with a modern twist. Among the highlights are the Carrara tripe and stewed baby octopus, and the traditional sweet rice cake is noteworthy. The Giannini di Montecarlo (Lu) wine by the glass is good.

The three of us had dinner here a couple of weeks ago. Everything was truly delicious. We tried the diavoletti, which we hadn't heard of and really enjoyed. The tordelli were really good, with plenty of ragù. For main courses, we had stewed cuttlefish, tripe, and roasted tripe, which were also delicious. For dessert, we had a coconut parfait with chopped pistachios, which was truly amazing. We also really enjoyed the owner's own Vermentino nero! Everyone was very kind and attentive, and the owner was very friendly! We highly recommend it!

Bottega storica accogliente. Ottimo servizio. Molto buoni i tortelli. Buoni moscardini con patate, ma più corretto dire patate con moscardini.
