La Cantinetta In Carpi

The hospitality was exquisite and warm. The wine cellar was well-stocked and explained with passion. The ingredients were undoubtedly of the highest quality.

Great! An experience we'll repeat!

Passing through Carpi on Friday evening for work, we looked for a restaurant near the hotel: we wanted to unwind and unwind. Despite the biting cold, we strolled downtown after dinner. We chose "La Cantinetta": everything was impeccable—a welcoming atmosphere, friendly and knowledgeable staff, excellent service, and top-quality cuisine. The wine selection is also vast and excellent! It's a shame it's not close by... I would have returned more than once... 🙂

Discovered by chance, they seated us for lunch even though it was almost closing time, with our dog in tow, so definitely a plus for the hospitality and helpfulness. The place is very nicely presented, with a quiet and discreetly elegant atmosphere. The appetizer was gnocco, with a small flaw: the fried gnocco was slightly greasy, but that may have been because it was made just for us on the spot. The quality of the dough was nothing to complain about, very light and tasty, so I don't consider it to have influenced the overall rating of the food; moreover, the accompanying prosciutto was of remarkable quality. The first courses were truly exceptional: very flavorful cappelletti in broth, presented in a cup, and lasagna with fresh pasta was truly delicious and well-balanced. The portions are generous. The prices are absolutely reasonable. We'll definitely return.

The pumpkin tortelli were excellent. The porcini mushroom caps were a bit dry and could have been seasoned better. Lunch was somewhat disrupted by the couple at the next table who got into a heated argument. The waiters' service was quick and friendly.
