I'd never been to Cantinella before. Everyone raved about it. We actually had a great time, the food was good, the place was spacious. I was very satisfied!

Historic venue, varied and above all high-quality food, traditional Marche cuisine and beyond, good and digestible pizza, and on Thursdays any pizza is €5. I didn't use the rooms because they're nearby, so I can't judge. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

We arrived late in the evening, finding nothing else open in Ostra, as it was almost the end of the season. They turned us away, explaining that, due to the lack of reservations, the evening had been busy. We returned the following evening with a reservation. The service was friendly and attentive. We ate "chichette della nonna" (grandmother's chicchette), Cantinella's mixed fried fish, and everything was accompanied by Lacrima di Morro D'Alba. Highly recommended, with a reservation.

Overall, the experience was positive, though with some reservations. The crescia with cured meats is good, but it's not my favorite type: I'm more attached to the classic crescia from the Marche region, while here it's different, less my cup of tea. The pizza isn't bad, the dough is decent, but honestly, I expected more: it's halfway between a thin Roman pizza and a more contemporary one, but it's not outstanding. The arrosticini, unfortunately, were too dry. However, the tiramisu was truly excellent, the best dish of the evening. The location is beautiful, and the service is attentive and friendly, two aspects that raise the overall rating.

05/11/2025: The restaurant is large and spacious, and the tables aren't crowded together like many restaurants, so even when it's crowded, you can still communicate easily with your fellow diners. Regarding the dishes, from what I've tasted, I can say I ate very well, especially the grilled lamb, which was perfectly cooked and plentiful. The prices are reasonable, and the service could be improved, as the waiters aren't very present and need to be called for any requests.
04/11/2025: It's a shame there weren't many people in the disco room and at 1am... almost everyone left... but the food was wonderful!!

26/10/2025: Best gelato. Nothing more to say. Definitely, for me, the best gelato in Ancona. Google tells me to update the review. I'll update it by saying that it remains the best gelato in Ancona and will remain so for a long time.
09/10/2025: Historic kiosk on Corso Carlo Alberto in Ancona. Authentic artisanal gelato. From spring to September, it has outdoor tables and chairs, popular with all ages. I used to go there as a girl, then as a mother with my son, and now as a grandmother with my granddaughter. 😃👍
