La Cantina degli Alpini In Cesana torinese

We went to this restaurant for dinner while vacationing in Cesana and wanted to explore it based on the reviews. Overall, we had a good time; the quality of the food was generally satisfactory. I'd recommend the zucchini gnocchi, which were truly special. I found the appetizer, a purple potato flan the size of a crème caramel, costing €11, to be overpriced. We found the portions to be very small for the price. That's why I'm not giving it a top rating.

It's always a pleasure to go to Cantina degli Alpini for the welcome, friendliness, and attentiveness of the entire staff. The quality-price ratio is unreasonable; in my opinion, it's deteriorated dramatically in recent years. The quality and deliciousness of the ingredients are certainly there, but the portions are far below the minimum required to classify a dish as "one portion." It's easy to spend €70/80 a person and still go home hungry. It's a shame, because it really wouldn't take much.

What can I say? A wonderful experience for an unforgettable evening. The menu is quite varied and reflects the seasonality of the ingredients well. We were able to sample various dishes, from appetizers to first courses, second courses, and desserts. These dishes, not just dishes, are because while taste is fundamental, the eye also deserves its share. Dishes are complete, balanced, simple yet interesting, classic yet with a touch of sophistication and innovation that makes them unique. The wine list is very rich, with a wide selection, ranging from flavors to fair prices, featuring gems from both renowned and lesser-known wineries. The staff lives up to all of this with their expertise, helpfulness, courtesy, and elegance. Definitely a place to return to, elegant in its simplicity and well-maintained.

A truly excellent experience, a truly elegant and distinctive restaurant, very professional and welcoming staff, and truly delicious food and wine. We enjoyed a very unique and delicious red cabbage appetizer with fondue, exceptional tagliolini with porcini mushrooms (the best I've ever had), and braised venison in Barolo wine with polenta that was heartwarming. Delicious desserts and coffee, too. Highly recommended!

Very good the menu is very welcoming

Overall, it's a good restaurant, but the food is average, the portions aren't generous, and the waitresses are a bit pushy (they stare at the customers and even take your plate away a second after you put your fork down; there's no need). The bill is expensive for the portions served. However, I recommend it to anyone who wants to eat traditional food and try all the local dishes.

We had lunch on the way home, stopping at this restaurant that had excellent reviews. The welcome was wonderful: warm and inviting, the food a symphony: each dish better than the next, with a remarkable attention to the quality of the ingredients. The atmosphere feels like it's frozen in time, those places that warm the heart... and above all, you find substance. Price: €50 per person, perhaps a bit steep for what we ate, but all in all, it's doable...

Four of us went for dinner during a weekend in the snow. The place is very charming and welcoming, with prompt and attentive service. We had two glasses of wine, one main course each: one onion soup, one castemagno gnocco, two venison cooked in Nebbiolo with polenta, and four desserts: three tarte tatins and one chocolate tower. The food was very, very good, truly flavorful, and the venison was excellent. I'm not giving it five stars because, in my opinion, the portions were very small. The desserts were also truly excellent. We paid €35 ​​each, which I think is a fair price, although at that point I would have expected larger portions.
