Important tip in advance: the shop is on the side street and not on the main street as stated on Google. The food and drinks were excellent, the price was fair and the service was outstandingly positive.

Small and welcoming place. The staff is very kind and professional, they welcomed us with great enthusiasm and we even had the pleasure of exchanging a few words. The food is delicious, I recommend the mixed platter and the meatballs with sauce. Honest and adequate price. I'm happy to have found this little restaurant and I will definitely have the pleasure of returning

The very kind managers of the restaurant saved our evening: we were three adults and four children looking for dinner in the middle of August without a reservation and they welcomed us like at home, with friendliness and home-made food. Well done to the children who let them play and draw. An oasis of courtesy in my Tuscany which does not always shine in this aspect.

Nice staff, very child friendly and sweet. My child broke a glass and their reaction was heartwarming. Food also very suitable specifically for kids.

The restaurant is located in an alley in the center but in a much less chaotic area; that's why we had a really good lunch, in the shade, delighting in typical dishes of the Tuscan tradition. Excellent price.

Siamo stati a cena in questo ristorante/bottega (e tornati due giorni dopo a pranzo) quasi per caso. Abbiamo trovato tutto ciò che cercavamo: ottimo cibo, locale e a buon prezzo, ottimo vino e un gentilissimo proprietario, appassionato e competente. Torneremo sicuramente e consigliamo questo posto a chi non cerca trappole per turisti ma una reale esperienza toscana.

20/08/2024: We walked into San Gimignano early and saw this welcoming cafe just inside the walls. The croissants looked delicious so the five of us sat at a table outside and enjoyed them. Two of us had coffees. The staff were friendly and helpful, the range of pastries and savouries excellent and the prices very reasonable. Clean toilet too. Hence we returned here for a delicious light lunch of toasted paninis followed by a coffee and a melt in the mouth fruit tart Recommended.
15/06/2024: Ottima la pizza, fantastiche le torte e i biscotti secchi. Prezzo nella media. Troppo alto i prezzi della pasticceria preconfezionata.

L'Osteria Rifugio Del Chianti

16/05/2024: Siamo stati in questa osteria qualche giorno fa ed è stata un'esperienza fantastica. Il proprietario Leonardo è una forza della natura, dire che è simpatico è dire poco. Sembrava di conoscerlo da una vita, cordiale, amichevole e soprattutto ricco di ironia. Ci ha deliziato il palato con degli antipasti sublimi, pappa al pomodoro fantastica. Quando è stato il momento di ordinare i primi ed i secondi siamo stati in grande difficoltà perchè era tutto troppo appetibile: alla fine abbiamo preso dei ravioli vegetariani, pici con il sugo in bianco di cinta senese, bollito ripassato con la cipolla, tagliata gorgonzola e noci, patate arrosto con la buccia, purè, spinaci ripassati. Che dire? Tutto speciale!! Per non parlare poi dei dolci: torta della nonna, cantucci e vin Santo e ciliegina finale Mont Blanc rivisitato da lui che ci ha lasciato davvero a bocca aperta. Ci ha offerto addirittura il vino ed ha brindato con noi. Grappa per finire. Ci siamo alzati da tavola che rotolavamo!!! Ed il conto superlativo. Bravo Leonardo e continua così. Andremo sicuramente a trovarlo di nuovo perchè è superlativo!!!
