As soon as we can, my wife and I take 1.5 hours to get there and the same amount to get back. Isn't that enough? Okay. The best Rocciata we've found so far in all of Umbria. The Torta della Nonna is heartwarming. The tozzetti are excellent, variegated and soft. Everything is truly excellent, at fair prices.

A bakery where you can have breakfast or buy sweets or savory snacks, all delicious. Try the tozzetti umbri and the rocciata. Kind and friendly staff, honest prices.

26/09/2025: Once again, we had the pleasure of dining at La Locanda del Capitano... this time to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Having lived in Umbria for the past four and a half years, we have grown to truly appreciate fine food and wine, and for me as a passionate food and wine lover, there is simply no better place than this culinary jewel in Montone. Chef Giancarlo Polito is more than just a master in the kitchen... he is a true gentleman. His genuine care for his guests and his dedication to creating unforgettable dining experiences set this restaurant apart. Every visit feels special, thanks to the perfect combination of exquisite cuisine, warm hospitality, and an atmosphere that makes you want to stay much longer. We absolutely love it here, and La Locanda del Capitano continues to be one of the highlights of our life in Umbria.

05/10/2025: Everything was perfect: excellent pizza, impeccable service.
05/10/2025: As soon as you enter this place, the attention and care they give to their customers is evident from the way you are welcomed. We chose two Neapolitan pizzas, in keeping with tradition, but in the case of mine, the boscaiola, there were mushrooms and excellent Perugian sausage. I also noticed excellent quality of ingredients, with an emphasis on local ones. The dough was excellent, respecting the traditional "Neapolitan pizza", with high edges. I had dessert, a pandolce with chocolate shavings and pear cream, which was nothing special, but at least it was homemade. The place is small but welcoming, a little noisy but normal.
