I had read some negative reviews... I almost gave up... instead I had a good time, you eat outside in the historic center, the staff is kind and for what we ate everything was good. The prices are NOT exaggerated. Must try.

The nice surprise of this rainy day: stop in this pretty village off the beaten track. Lovely welcome, excellent meat at a very reasonable price and even the Vino de la casa was good (Salento, €10!)

La bettola is one of those places dear to me. Located in the center of Specchia, a magical place, it is a certainty. The host is an exquisite person, and every time we dine there, he never misses a beat. Extraordinary meats, a point of reference for the area and beyond. In my opinion, I would easily put it on the podium of the taverns/restaurants in Italy that have meat as their strong point. Top. Absolutely worth the trip. Like very popular places, the experience is undoubtedly better on days when there is no overcrowding. But it still remains a certainty, solid as a rock.

02/07/2025: Suggestive location overlooking the sea. Good food, we especially appreciated the macaroni with tuna, capers and olives, and professional service... Must try.
02/07/2025: Magnificent place above the water, spectacular sea view at sunset! We had the white crostini as an appetizer, delicious especially the ones with raw shrimp. As a first course, orecchiette with turnip tops and stracciatella, a must try! And finally, mixed fried fish and seafood, everything was delicious. Even the spumone with figs was very good. A wonderful place and kind and friendly staff, congratulations!
