I love La Base! This is my second time in Rome and my FOURTH time coming to this restaurant! The vibes are so warm and cozy, the decor is super cute as well. I love the food and the prices are amazing, especially considering the location close to the colosseum. I also appreciate that they list the allergens on the menu, it is very helpful. They offer a huge hugo spritz and it is very tasty and good for the money. My favorite dish is the pesto Gnocchi!

We arrived from Poland late at night. It was the only place open late at night in the area… a restaurant with a great atmosphere, great service, and delicious food.

The restaurant's location is ideal, making it highly recommended if you want a quick, good, and affordable meal.
The food is acceptable, especially considering the price. It's a touristy restaurant with a very extensive menu, but you can almost always find a table and there's something to satisfy every palate.
If you're looking for something truly authentic, you should choose an osteria/fraschetta.
I've eaten here several times and have always been satisfied. I recommend the fritto per due, and my son enjoyed the carbonara, as well as the hamburger and the tagliata di pollo.
There were nine of us, so it was one of the few restaurants around the Colosseum that had enough space for all of us, especially during peak season.

We only tried two restaurants in the Colosseum area, but this one is really inexpensive for such good food. The service is efficient and could use a bit more of a smile. The truffle pasta is delicious.
The setting is great, American style (no Roman decor 😅).

We visited this place around 5-6 PM. There were plenty of seats, and only a couple of other customers in the room. We were shown to a table by the window. A wonderful place :) The interior is very interesting and unusual, with plenty to see.
We each ordered pasta. We waited about 10-20 minutes, and the time flew by while we chatted. I liked the dish – fettuccine alla boscaiola. My companion ordered pasta with shrimp. She also liked everything.
Cons:
- They didn't bring more napkins with the shrimp pasta, just one. In our opinion, this is a minor staff oversight.
- The men's restroom was dirty. This was unpleasant.
Otherwise, we liked everything; the staff was friendly.
