La Barrocciaia In Livorno

We had a lovely time here during our stay in Livorno. I had the Baccala con Livornese and the Polpette al Sugo, and both were delicious. My wife had the Pappardelle with Guanciale and the Traditional Platter, and they were also lovely. We were also looked after very well by the young cameriera, who recommended an excellent red wine to accompany our meals. We would happily return.

A historic Livorno restaurant, now run by family friends. They have a vast menu specializing in premium meats made with their own ingredients, all entirely artisanal. The schiacciatine are also excellent, with affordable prices and friendly, helpful staff. I highly recommend it for a satisfying lunch or dinner in the heart of Livorno.

We've been twice, and we return every time we're in Livorno. The atmosphere is welcoming, the staff are incredibly friendly, helpful, and accommodating. The food is delicious, natural, and more than adequate. They even made our two Shitzus very welcome. The first time we had a butcher's platter and a traditional platter. They were very generous and delicious. The second time, we had a sliced ​​steak with arugula and parmesan. Truly unique, with a good flavor and very tender. The price was great. They also make sandwiches to your liking, but keep in mind their delicious porchetta. It's located in the fruit and vegetable market square. It's easy to get there by cutting north from Via Grande on foot. If you have a car, you can park on Via Grande (if you find a space), otherwise, park nearby. There's a limited traffic zone there.

This is my first time trying the new management of Barrocciaia. We stopped by at lunchtime for a platter and a glass of wine, and I have to say the quality of what we were served was truly top-notch (the raw fish platter was exceptional!). Considering the ingredients and the quantity, I found the price to be truly fair. The service is friendly (which is never a given these days) and informal, perfectly reflecting the spirit of the place. Kudos to these guys... we'll definitely be back to try other dishes from your menu. Thank you.
