La Barchessa In Modena

I'd read terrible reviews, but after eating there, I think they were all false. The food was good, the service was friendly and fast, and the price was more than fair. It was Saturday night with seven friends, and after eating a lot and drinking wine, water, etc., we spent €32 each. Unfortunately, there weren't many people. At this point, I think it's mainly because of the nasty things that have been written and done, that something should be done about these unfair practices.

Found the place by chance, varied menu with many typical Modena dishes, the lasagna was good but nothing special, it lacked a few ingredients, seafood rice was abundant and good, the raw ham was excellent and finally the dessert was the zuppa inglese which was very good

We stopped by chance for lunch, three adults and two children. We ordered tortellini with cream, ham, and gnocco tigelle. Everything was good, an excellent charcuterie board paired with tigelle and gnocco fritto lardo. They charge extra for the stracchino, as well as for dips if requested. The artisanal tortellini were also good. The price was average compared to other restaurants.

Very good dishes, congratulations

We stopped for lunch on the way back from the beach (a restaurant near the Modena Sud toll booth). We ordered tortellini in broth, tigelle, and gnocco fritto with cured meats, scallops in white wine, and a salad. I must compliment the excellent tortellini; the broth was really good, and the meat was well-cooked, as were the cured meats. The gnocco fritto was average, while the tigelle were overcooked, some bordering on crunchy; they definitely need a facelift. We finished with a portion of decent tiramisu and a coffee. The service was a bit slow considering the restaurant was half-empty, and we had to ask for bread (it was definitely an oversight, it can happen). Total €61, quite reasonable for what we ate, considering the generous portions. Perhaps the cover charge could be lowered a bit (€2.80). Overall, I would recommend it for a quick stop like we did.

Excellent tortellini like few others know how to make. Forgive them, they're so delicious.
