Nestled in the green countryside of the Alto Pescarese area, La Bandiera confirms its position as one of the most interesting addresses in central Italy. The Michelin-starred restaurant welcomes guests with a refined and understated atmosphere, surrounded by rural views that reflect the authentic soul of Abruzzo. The service is punctual, attentive, yet never intrusive: a difficult balance to achieve, contributing to the sense of welcome and familiarity that permeates the room from the moment you enter. We chose the "Countryside and Sea" tasting menu (€100, drinks not included), a menu whose price alone suggests a philosophy focused on affordable quality. Dish after dish, the tasting reveals a cuisine focused on local ingredients, without excessive creativity for its own sake. No kidneys, no pigeon: here, the land takes the lead, with sincere pairings and distinct flavors. Among the courses, the Artichoke Absolute stands out, an off-menu addition that proved to be the true star of the evening: a harmonious dish, technically impeccable, and intensely regional. Overall, the quality is truly astonishing, especially considering the average price (about €8 per dish, compared to the overall offering). The only misstep comes with dessert. The "Gran Sasso" dessert, inspired by the iconic mountain of Abruzzo, isn't convincing: an ambitious idea that, however, lacks balance and coherence with the preceding menu. Yet, in a perfect dinner, dessert should be the most pleasant memory. The small pastries are also uninspiring: three centerba-style pastries may seem excessive, especially for those who don't like or consume alcohol. Aside from these details, La Bandiera remains a top-notch gastronomic experience, with a nearly unbeatable value for money in Central Italy. It's worth a visit for anyone who wants to discover a cuisine that manages to be both "starred" and deeply distinctive. Finally, praise goes to the maître d'—likely the chef's son—for his courtesy and attention to detail: the choice to offer an additional dish, a rare gesture at establishments of this caliber, demonstrates a human approach that completes an already memorable dining experience.

This is my first review, but I've had lunch here twice; the first time as a graduation gift to my girlfriend and this time as a Christmas present. I'll be honest: I've always been skeptical of gourmet restaurants, as I love trattorias, but this experience completely changed my mindset. The dishes were nothing short of excellent, I discovered new flavors, and they paid homage to the various culinary specialties of Abruzzo, revisited. If you're looking for a unique experience, this is the place for you. Highly recommended.
