It's true, the fried fish deserves a special mention for its deliciousness, but from the scabecciu to the tuna and onions, it was a continuous delight 😜! The best fish meal... authentic and delicious

If you want fresh, properly cooked fish, come to Balena. The chef has golden hands and knows what she's doing. Everything is truly delicious, including the quality/price ratio. Compliments to the waiter, who almost single-handedly managed the entire dining room, and to the others as well for the excellent experience (the chef and the very kind young woman). This is my idea of ​​an ideal restaurant. It was the best meal of the entire holiday, and I can't wait to return. Traditional Cagliari cuisine is just what you need if you want to eat good fish.

I had lunch today with my brothers and loved everything: the atmosphere, the service, the spotless restrooms. If I'm looking for a trattoria, La Balena is a perfect example. No frills, friendly and fast service, and a simple decor because the food is the show. I'm editing my review and adding that I admired the owner, who manages the dining room alone; it's not everyone's style to serve so many tables without help. I also appreciated the lack of a menu; to me, it means the kitchen is preparing the catch of the day. I enjoyed the tender and flavorful octopus (and not because of the sauce; the octopus was really good), the Cagliari-style burrida, in white sauce with walnuts, truly delicate and balanced, the excellent tuna served traditionally with beans and sweet raw onion, the mixed fry with shrimp and super-delicious fresh mangetout, and the calamari. It did not disappoint. I found the portions quite generous; I'd have been fine with less, but for a glutton, that also increases the score, so I'm adding it. Kudos to this family for continuing the business their father started; his presence is truly felt, and I think he would be proud of his boys.
